YNET – Some 200 rabbis and Jewish community leaders report a 75% increase in the number of Europeans hiding their Jewish identity; only 15% of the continent’s Jews plan to attend synagogue prayers during the High Holidays. About 70 percent of Europe’s Jews conceal their religion and avoid any activity which may uncover their Jewish identity, likely for fear of being harassed, according to reports from rabbis and leaders of Jewish communities in the continent. Ahead of the Jewish New Year and High Holidays, the Rabbinical Center of Europe (RCE) and European Jewish Association (EJA) asked a representative sample of 197 community leaders in Western and Eastern Europe how many people plan to visit synagogues during Rosh Hashana. According to the findings, only about 15% of Europe’s Jews plan to attend the prayers and shofar blowing with their children, while 85% will stay away. This figure marks a considerable rise of about 75 percent in the number of Jews concealing their religion within one year, after a similar survey conducted about a year ago found that only 40 percent of Europe’s Jews fail to express their Jewish identity in any way – neither religiously nor socially-communally – and 75 percent of their children don’t go to Jewish schools. Major security measures at synagogues This year also saw a significant rise in the number of Jews who will not attend synagogue, after a similar survey conducted last year found that about 70 percent won’t participate in the holiday prayers, not even on Yom Kippur. The estimate at the time was that the assimilation level among European Jews amounted to about 80 percent. EJA General Director Rabbi Menachem Margolin said that “Jewish communities are working hard to help Jews attend Rosh Hashanah services. Major Security measures are being taken and we can report that there is a relative increase in the number of Jews who have expressed their intention to attend synagogues over Rosh Hashanah with their families, compared to last year.” Rabbi Margolin called on the Israeli government to increase Jewish education in the Diaspora, saying that “most young people whose parents avoid identification as Jews will not maintain any connection to the Jewish people and their homeland. This is a serious trend not only in terms of European Jewry but also a strategic problem of the State of Israel.” He added that the different Jewish organizations across Europe were working both vis-à-vis the European Union and vis-à-vis the different governments in order to boost security around synagogues and Jewish institutions and revive Jewish life in every city with Jewish residents. “We are dealing now with a pincer movement,” Margolin said. “On the one hand, repeated waves of anti-Israel harassment, which is really anti-Semitic expression, and on the other hand – especially in light of what already seems like the Islamization of many cities throughout the continent, a murky wave of nationalism and xenophobia.” Poster Comment: People have a longer history than Americans with Jews so they know more than we do.

So if 3.8 million are religious Jews and 1/6th are religious, then the Jewish population of the US is 6 X 3.8 million or roughly 20 or 22 million.

Why are Jews leaving - is it really fear or is it self-hate? How many Jews hate being a Jew - look at all the baggage that comes with being a Jew. Tribal Jew culture dictates that every Jew has to both fear and look down on all of humanity, and it justifies doing wrong to every other human being. What a life long burden. The problem is that other cultures are modern in their thinking – ever less tribal, and a whole lot nicer. Having a cultural Jew attitude inherently brings trouble – that it the way it is – who needs it?
You're a fast learner, I must say :-) I keep trying to interest people in the extremely revealing documentary DEFAMATION. But remember, even for those who to go to tumple, it's almost entirely a feelgood and political/tribal thing -- the reading of Torah etc is just window dressing. I know -- I've seen it from the inside. Another damning thing about this film. Except for key players like Foxman or the rabbis, it's mostly the Jueish females that do all the talking -- and they're noisy as hell. In the extended footage of Izrulli kids visiting Auschwitz the boys say hardly a word the whole time. Jue women are known to be inordinately high-testosterone -- at the same time it gives a very female (not to say feminine) cast to Jue thought and culture.

well it was very interesting actually,.. on our Europe trip we ended in Poland, so we arrived at the town where Auschwitz was, and very few people spoke English. they don't use euros there, like most of Europe, which does not use, or accept, or even seem to like the idea of euros. we got a locker to put our backpacks and the lady tried to grunt which way it was. very few in Poland speak english, unlike most others of Europe. (not griping bout that, just reporting the facts...) so, it was not at like as one might expect. no big production about the camp. we start walking down this deserted street, a few food shops and small grocery stores. walked several blocks and I would ask approaching folks where it was, to confirm we were on the right track. finally we saw a faded very small sign with an arrow to the right. we crossed the street and found a parking lot, and some activity. economically depressed area. quiet. You wont believe, and I still don't, this next part. Since we arrived after four, the guided tours were over . (before 4 you must buy a ticket for a guided tour. so they didn't even charge us to get in! !!!!! This place is NOT run by jews I assure you. just amazing. id have never DREAMED one could tour Auschwitz and birkenau for FREE! How awesome that was not to have to pay $$$ to see this place! LoL!! (still cant believe it, even as I type.) for example in Amsterdam, my wife went to see the 'anne frank' house,. you wouldn't BELIEVE the crowds at that place. several hour wait. Much larger crowds and energy there than at Auschwitz. anne frank house charged 9 euros to get in. I declined to pay or go in, on principle, because I did not want to spend a dime towards that.) so, anyway back to Auschwitz. The nice young lady asked where we were from, and gave us a slip/receipt telling us we could enter at 530 pm so we had an hour and a half to visit birkenau, which is some distance away. they had a free (!!!!!) shuttle bus going there, took about 5 mins,. so we arrive and its more self guided there. looks like a lot of dirt and fields surrounded by fences. I was reading one of the placards out front and this tall jew comes up, yarmulke, long beard, and he asks how ya doing. I say pretty good, you? "My grandfather died here. and my grandmother. " he dramatically says. "Sorry to hear that," I reply. he said he prefers birkenau and that Auschwitz seems more commercialized. so anyway we walk around, take a lot of photos, . some of the rubble is literally piles of bricks and they say that's is where they gas chambers were. at 520pm we take the shuttle bus back to Auschwitz and do a self guided tour of the place, got more photos,.it is quite extensive, they did indeed show where the orchestra played. many buildings, all with placards, pics, much like any national park in the US such as Alcatraz or grand canyon. it is a state museum. saw only one jewish family the whole day. im not a revisionist per se, meaning I haven't spent a lot of time at all on the subject, other than having read, watched and listened to enough data to completely satisfy my conclusion that the six million #, and the 'gassiing' are both completely fabricated. so to be honest I didn't take too much of an interest in it,. it was a lot like the 9/11 museum in new York,. very similar in fact. we spent about 2 hours there and moved on to other more enjoyable parts of Poland, not before buying an ice cream and orange Fanta at the shabby corner grocery store , for our next train ride to our next destination, which I cant even remember the name of. it is all on a list. :-) when I have time I will post the photos, and some vids. of this very infamous place, that was quite unimpressive. damn that's freaking hilarious! id seen that before but forgotten all about it. :-) See I proudly stopped drinking all soad three years ago in 2012. (Dr Pepper was my beverage of choice for years.) but at Europe, it was so hot, and there was such a lack of cold anything, that when I saw a giant 2 litre orange Fanta (after all, its orange, so it must be sort of like orange juice and not really soda right! lmao.. I chugeed that stuff down daily, and loved it. I drank water too, but sometimes that Orange Fanta just hit the spot. I have though since quit all soda again, before re-entering the usa, and do not miss it. I drink seltzer water (ice cold carbonated water with nothing else in it.) Great stuff. just has more zip than water. ive never drank coffee or tea or anything like that, and don't believe caffeine is needed. if one is tired, they need to sleep, not chug something to keep them artificially stimulated., imo. That makes two of us!! I've recently parsed out plain fizz water as the perfect thirst killer for when you don't want to get woozy from beer (which is otherwise the best of 'em). The latest plan is to buy the liter size and drink it over two days -- otherwise it loses its fizz and starts tasting like the plastic bottle. Gotta get into home carbonation, presumably even cheaper -- but NOT with Jue Soda Stream, natch. Juices are also great but the citrus is problematic. Both grapefruit and orange juice are thrown together from various oils and such, that's why Minute Maid tastes like liquid candy but straight oranges don't.
