It was meant to portray the jocks as the PC police either by irony or their overall experience with bullies. Overall this story line seems to signal a recognition on their part that this is no longer the America of the first season or even the post 9/11 season.

What would be great would be an episode on the migrant crisis and its connection with the wars. But that may be asking much.
