That is IF the US had air superiority, which is in question. If EITHER side predicted a major loss, it would go nuclear within hours. Any real fight between the US and Russia ANYWHERE in the world would turn nuclear before the day's over. =========================================== My #2 If EITHER side predicted a major loss, it would go nuclear within hours. The Russians are not ready for a land war with the US, and the US absolutely is not ready for a land war with Russia and China, which would be the logical progression against the US. The US could not invade Russia, and Russia could not invade the US. It's a problem of not being able to get enough troops across the two oceans to launch an actual invasion. So yep, after some US aircraft carriers plunge to the depths of the ocean, and some Russian bombers are spiraling down to the ground, the ICBMs would soon be on their one way voyage to Armageddon.
