wikid: 'In 2000, Wakeman released an instrumental version of "Morning Has Broken" on an album of the same title. That same year he gave an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live in which he said he had agreed to perform on the Cat Stevens track for £10 and was "shattered" to be omitted from the credits, adding that he never received the money either.'
I have a couple Carpenters documentaries and they're wondrous. Any backup player who diverged from what was on the record, Karen pushed him out of the plane on the way home. Heard 'em once at the Garden State Arts Center.
I posted a thread one time asking folks to name their favorite love song ballad... it was great and got a ton of replies. lol. I love those sappy power- ballads! great to drive to and sing along. ;-)
i also like rock, and other types of music - mostly because the music categories i refer to is the stuff i heard as a kid- all different genres from my mom, ( johnny mathis, manilow, Kenny rogers, dean martin m Pavarotti) dad, (glen Campbell, ) older bros, (van halen, aerosmith, nugent, Clapton, etc) older sis, (earth wind & fire, Chicago, bee gees)) middle sisters.. (joe Jackson, journey, oingo boingo, ) etc. plus my 80s stuff. m mp3 is chock full. There's something about music you heard as a kid that stays in your soul forever. cant explain it.
I also posted a thread years ago demanding that 4um posters "NAME A JEW THAT YOU LIKE!" it was swamped too, with replies.
for some reason the search feature here does not work very well and those threads must be lost in internet eternity somewhere. ;-)
Sure would like to see those. Favorite love song ballad -- that's a tough one. Some of the greatest were written for the worst purpose -- to romanticize World War Jue (I'll be Seeing You, Love Letters, I'll Walk Alone). This is certainly one of the most entrancing arranging and recording jobs -- well, youtube can hardly do it justice
I've never denied Jues have talent. They do, and that's actually BIG part of the problem...... Now this forgotten instrumental carries more love than lots of lyrics -- turn it UP:
