Want... Jiangxi police have cracked an appalling human trafficking case in which a criminal gang bought mentally challenged women from their families, promising to marry them off to a better life but instead holding them in a pigsty in northern China, where they were sold for between 50,000-100,000 yuan (US$7,885-US$15,800) to older men.

The case can be attributed to the mindsets of the womens' families. They were generally indifferent about the fate of their daughters and considered mentally disabled girls to be a burden, according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.

Many of the women were also unable to protect themselves and were particularly vulnerable, the report added.

Ten women were sold by the gang, based in Shandong province, over a period of two years, according to Xinhua.

The women were bought from their families in Guangdong province and the Guangxi autonomus region of southern China for 3,000-5,000 yuan (US$470-US$790).

The gang has earned more than 600,000 yuan (US$94,600) over two years, the report said.

The case was cracked after two men travelling with a mentally impaired woman on a train from Guangxi to northern China attracted the attention of railway police.

The men were arrested, which led officers to the rest of the gang.

One suspect in Shandong province, identified only by his surname Sun, would find prospective buyers for the women, mainly men from a poor mountainous area of the province. He would then alert a middleman who would ask local "matchmakers" to find mentally challenged women in Guangxi and Guangdong.

"People have little awareness of the law. Not many know that such acts are illegal. The women were usually aged between 20 and 30 years old," the report said.

They were then brought to Shandong and kept in a pigsty run by Sun to wait for buyers to choose their "brides." The buyers were mostly older men from poor families who could not afford a conventional marriage, Sun told the police.

The buyers knew the women were mentally challenged and only wanted to marry them to have children, Sun said.

Police found that once the women were taken away, few parents tried to make contact with them.

One family even refused to take their daughter back from her buyer, saying they were too poor. Her parents only agreed to care for her again after their local government promised to give a monthly subsidy for low-income families, the report said.

Not that much different from the mentally challenged living in the streets in the West, although it's hard not to laugh at some of the money-making schemes Chinese are coming up with.

And people despise Hitler for wanting to tie their tubes. (Phool Donahue celebrated two retards getting married and having a kid.) If people had heeded Adolf this and thousands or millions of ghastly headlines wouldn't be happening.

I hope Chinese do a followup study of the matings to see how things turn out; learn something from this spontaneous experiment.

China is a sick, sick place. The growing wealth and glitz doesn't disguise it there any better than here!
