Want... Wang Jun, the founder and CEO of Tanyuan Tech, claims big data can be applied to health management and could potentially extend human life to 150 years, reports the China Youth Daily.
Big data analysis can be used in health management, Wang said at this year's Computer Hardware & Software Trade Show. Based on results collected from DNA sequencing, diet and exercise, Wang said big data can use this information to predict the likelihood of specific diseases. Prediction and early treatment could potentially extend a person's life expectancy to 150 years, Wang said.
DNA sequencing is now being applied to unborn children to test for Down syndrome and congenital dementia. Genes will also play a pivotal role in treating cancer, Wang said.
The most important crucial thing for gene research is its applications for health management and understanding the human body, Wang said.
Even if significant achievements are made in gene research, much is left to be understood about the human body and health. "Genes play an important role in behavior and disease. Physical ailments and disease can be triggered by multiple genes rather than a singular gene," Wang said.
