Interesting..I hadn't known about this before. Starting on the 11th floor, and spreading to 6 floors, it burned for 3hrs. - No weakening - No collapse ....just repairs. About 2 million $$
We all know that the Twin Towers were contaminated by Asbestos. It would have cost Millions of Dollars to have it cleaned up. Larry Silverstein made out like a bandit on the double claim of "double indemnity" for the supposed terror attack. ;)
Don't forget the incident in the article happened over 25 years before the 9-11 incident. That is the prime reason that the people who occupied the towers were exposed to the asbestos for such a long period of time. ;)
Great insight! Urbanization is unhealthy in so many ways. The Donald and family live on the 57th floor of Trump Tower (allegedly calling it the 67th) but with the disasters we've seen I don't know that I ever want to live or work more than two stories up again.
You won't believe what a gigantic deal AND disaster asbestos was for England, merely one of a number of curses brought on by a higher standard of living. That part's in the above or some other nearby episode. She did 'em on like 4 different periods.
When you consider that the dangers of asbestos were known to the ancients, you wonder how modern man gets through a week alive.
