Alison Krauss: New Song With Robert Plant Released

November 6, 2015

by Lacy Langley

Alison Krauss is staying busy these days!

Ever the joyful and prolific musician, Alison Krauss has yet again joined up with Robert Plant to release a new Christmas song called “The Light of a Christmas Day”.

Alison Krauss‘ new song with Robert Plant is from the soundtrack for the upcoming holiday film called Love the Coopers.

Other songs on the soundtrack besides Alison Krauss and Robert Plant’s stunning duet will include tunes from music icons Bob Dylan and Otis Redding.

Love the Coopers features some huge Hollywood names like John Goodman, Ed Helms and Amanda Seyfried. It’s about a family of four generations and their Christmas Eve tradition.

Watch it here:

However, the movie isn’t the big news here. Alison Krauss and Robert Plant made waves back in 2007 when they recorded the album Raising Sand.

Alison Krauss and Robert Plant earned the Album of the Year award at the 2009 Grammys and many a new fan from younger generations for that delightful project.

Besides releasing new music with Robert Plant, Alison Krauss will also be a big part of the event Songwriters 4 Songwriters: Ladies’ Night in Tennessee.

This charity event will benefit songwriters who are suffering from pancreatic cancer.

In addition to Alison Krauss, the event will also feature Matraca Berg, Erin Enderlin, The Likely Culprits, Shelly Fairchild, Bridgette Tatum and Trick Pony.

Songwriters 4 Songwriters was created after the death of Hank Cochran, who died in 2010 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years earlier.

Aren’t you excited about another collaboration between Alison Krauss and Robert Plant?

Poster Comment:

We worked Alison Krauss and Robert Plant both in Chicago. Alison Krauss was a great musician.

At Robert Plant, I was standing outside the dressing room entrance. Robert Plant came out. He had a pint bottle of Scotch whiskey in his coat pocket. He took it out and unscrewed the cap and took a big slug off the bottle.

Some things you just do not forget. ;)

Steven Tyler says, "Thank God that I'm here today." True, when you consider how much dope he has done in his career.
