George Bush Sr. Just Made Some Comments about “Dubya” That Will Surprise You

George HW Bush is nearing the end of his life.

This means he’s taking off the kid gloves, refusing to pull punches and goes off to tell it like it is.

In a recent interview he was asked what he thought about the 8 years his son spent in office. While you would think the former President would gush about all the things his son did in office that wasn’t exactly the case.

Mind you he didn’t bash his son, but he definitely said some things that’ll shock people on both the left and the right.

IJ Review writes:

During the first Gulf War, President George H.W. Bush stopped short of toppling Saddam Hussein. Thirteen years later, his son finished the job.

Now, “41” is speaking out about “43’s” decision, and the two advisors he faults most for influencing him. And he faults “43,” as well.

In John Meacham’s Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush, Bush took then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to task, to whom he referred as an “arrogant fellow”:

“I think he served the president badly. I’ve never been that close to him anyway. … There’s a lack of humility, a lack of seeing what the other guy thinks. He’s more kick ass and take names, take numbers. I think he paid a price for that.”

Bush also faulted Vice President Dick Cheney, who served as Secretary of Defense during his administration:

“He just became very hard-line and very different from the Dick Cheney I knew and worked with. Just iron-ass. His seeming knuckling under to the real hard-charging guys who want to fight about everything, use force to get our way in the Middle East.”

Then Bush laid the responsibility directly at the feet of his son:

“The big mistake that was made was letting Cheney bring in kind of his own State Department. … But it’s not Cheney’s fault. It’s the president’s fault. He added: “The buck stops there.”

He told Meacham that his views should not be interpreted as a lack of support for his son:

“He’s my son, he did his best and I’m for him. It’s that simple an equation.”

Simple or not, “41” joins the list of those Monday-morning quarterbacking “43’s” decision to finish the job he started.

For you, the intelligent reader you’re probably not surprised to see someone like Bush Sr. doubling down on the bad policies of the establishment politicians like Cheney and Rumsfeld.

After all he’s 91 years old so he’s reached a point in his life where he’s going to tell it like it is.

And to be fair, his son was a much, much better President than who we’ve been left to suffer with in his absence.

So be honest.

Do you think Bush Sr. was a bit to soft on his son? Or not harsh enough?

He is such a turd. thinks he's SOOOOO noble, calling for moderation in Boy George's reign of terror eight years after the fact. I hope he dies soon, just wish he wasn't looking so healthy. Look, it's a nicer fate than the one he laid on thousands of people merely guilty of livinhg in the Mideast while goyish.
