"From the comments: 'My theory is that a lot of the creepy freepers who post on lefty sites are just low-level right-out-of-college cubicle jockeys at right wing think-tanks. They're getting paid to skulk around and regurgitate winger talking points. Just a theory of course.

Have you ever noticed that a lot of them tend to post a lot during business hours and then disappear on the weekends? I guess that's when their busy date-raping one another ...' I've noticed this a lot over at the HuffPo. There seem to be a couple of people whose job it is to just jump in and leave right-wing talking points at the top of every thread. It doesn't happen if you post at night, and then they won't show up until business hours the next day."

http://firedoglake.blogspot.com/

Firedoglake provides a link to this poster comment at The Washington Monthly:

"Hey guys,

I interviewed for a guerilla marketing business that targeted web forums.

I was told that if I accepted the job, I was to have at LEAST 50 identities on as many forums as I could muster (they wanted 100 eventually), with a goal of 5 posts an hour. The posts had to be well thought out, and the idea was that I was to establish multiple identities with a history on the forums, so that when the timing was right a well written but subtly placed marketing post could be finessed in. And regular visitors would recognize the post as coming from a long time poster.

They had 12 people working there full time, and were hiring 10 more. You do the math. No wait, I'll do it for you: that's 880 posts a day (if minimum was met). However he said the better ones could do around 8 or 10 an hour. And they had different "verticals" so there was the sports guy, and the politics guy, the hentai, excuse me I mean anime guy, etc.

But the most critical point was this: develop and integrate the identity. No random "HEY SONY IS AWESOME BUY THIS" stuff.

Kinda spooky.

P.S. Five posts AN HOUR? Sound like anyone you know..."

This may explain quite a bit. Some elements of our society would rather us get angered over a police brutality incident and not keep examining what the nazicrats are doing to our country.

Sure! They've got a diversionary topic to fit anyone, too. Those of us who are interested in crime--no prob, they've got something for us, too! "Missing girl"!

Meanwhile, they also divert the attention of their own repuke party adherents. Wouldn't want any of those people waking up! So, for example, freeptard republic runs the mega-threads called "The Terror Matrix". Look through them some time. It's a giant coffee klatsch consisting of a bunch of freeptard women and their "pool boy" online male companions, and they manage to turn every overturned fuel truck, every kid's-science-project-thought-to-be-a-bomb-on-a- plane, every hail storm, every volcanic rumbling, every swarthy visitor to the Sears Tower... all is turned into a Noteworthy Possible Terror Event.

You boasted several times about your business experience:

Stocks Rise as Oil Eases - post #19

I own my companies, I employ people. I have a pretty good idea of whats what when it comes to economic matters, having been sucessful in my own right for over a decade now, after having survived a recession, a bubble burst, and a trillion dollar plus attack on our country that brought my cash flow to a halt for six months or more, and resulted in my writting off six figures worth of bad debt in the past 16 months.

Consumer Spending Rebounds Sharply - post #1

While I'm waiting I've been doing what I always have done the past eight years....make money, create jobs, share the wealth.

Economy Grows at Slower Pace Than Expected - post #1

But profits are up by 17.9 percent from a year ago.

My various businesses reflect this number almost exactly. Tells me reinvestment into companies will be the "thing to do" in the fourth quarter, as well as new job creation.

So what strikes me as odd, is you claim to be the owner of several businesses, employ people, create jobs, and share the wealth presumably generated by those businesses. Yet I note several inconsistencies:

having been sucessful in my own right for over a decade now I always have done the past eight years

So which is it - over a decade or eight years?

brought my cash flow to a halt for six months or more, and resulted in my writting off six figures worth of bad debt in the past 16 months My various businesses reflect this number almost exactly [profits are up by 17.9 percent from a year ago]

So which is it - zero cash flow for six months and six figure writeoffs or profits up about 18 percent?

So I asked you what kind of business you had, and you said (posts #4 & #24):

Several, most involved with the gathering of information from various courthouses and reselling to employment screening companies, but not all. S-corp's and LLC's, measured in eight digits.

But the profit and/or loss of S-corps and LLC's flow through to its owner(s), so unless you're bonusing your employees you're not sharing any wealth.

Further the management of several S-corps or LLC's that are presumably large enough to gross 8-digits ($10-99M) would be quite time consuming, beyond the ability of the average corporate manager with just one such company.

But I figure, well maybe you are an industrious guy. Except that I notice you spend all your time posting on LP, every few minutes, all day every day except Sundays and last Saturday, and that doesn't include the time you spend posting on Free Republic and other sites.

Your Monday-Friday posting behaviour is generally 8:45-9:04 AM thru 14:45 -16:00 PM and Saturday 9:40-10:40 AM thru 11:15-13:15 PM

Obviously, if you read more than one post before responding (but you don't seem to read that much) your rate would be even higher.

In fact, posting on LP seems to be 'your life'

Bottom line, even once every three minutes from roughy 9 AM to 4 PM Monday- Friday and 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays (never evenings or on Sunday), you seem like you don't have internet access at home (very odd for someone who owns and manages several small businesses) or you are someone elses employee and you're using your company computer for LP access instead of doing your work, or maybe you really do use the Cincinnati Public Library for your internet access and they're closed evenings and Sundays.

Or maybe you don't have a regular job, entrepreneur that you are. So, when do you get time to build business & companies, manage employees, create jobs...you know, all that 'captain of industry' stuff you claim to do?

Considering your flawed understanding of economics and business and your posting patterns, it appears rather than a company owner and manager, you seem to be, well, a troll, and a dishonest one at that:

Neil McIver had you pegged as a liar here in CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS-Breaking, sirens up - post #1731 in which he explained why he banned you.

Since Goldi-Lox reinstated you, you have continued to lie at least to me, as I have confronted you here:

Bush Team on Defensive Over al-Qaeda Leak - post #65

Mortgage Applications Fall For Second Week - post #38

U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Rise 10,000 To 343,000 - post #27 and post #34

So, your response to my final question in post #32:

Appreciate your patience. Still trying to get a handle on your business scale.

Large enough that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to running small businesses, tax codes on the same, etc etc etc.

Sorry, given the nature of this particular forum, I'm not inclined to reveal anything further. No offense, I'm sure you understand the reason.

I suspect the reason you won't respond is you don't know what a plausible response would be, because you don't have any businesses, you don't run any business, you've never associated with anyone who has (your personality would isolate you from those who have), and you're probably just a day-time courthouse employee, spending most of his day posting on LP, at the public's expense.

Starwind posted on 2004-08-30 20:43:31 ET Reply Trace

Orangedog, I remember reading that. I enjoyed reading it again. I copied it onto here because I think it should be required reading for all who visit LP-- something that some of us still do (but only when we want a really good laugh.)

I was skeptical, but no more. I shouldn't have been skeptical, because I know for a fact that the repukes have DEFINITELY been paying various conventional media outlets to give them good propaganda. Look at Armstrong Williams, as just one example out of many. Or Jeff Gannon/Jim Guckert. Then, recently, it's turned out that Jack Abramoff paid some douchebag "journalist" to write favorable articles for him. And Judith Miller, who, in addition to apparently being a paid shill, might also be an Israeli agent of some sort.

So, given that more and more people turn to the internet for "interactive" journalism, it makes perfect sense that the repukes would spread the payola around among internet posters, too.

Incidentally, I also must confess to having been one of those who ragged on Gore during the run-up to the 2000 election, and during the whole controversy. Whatever Gore's faults--and there are many--I do now wish that he had become president instead of the one we got. Of course, we'd have had Lieberman as VP, but even Lieberman would be hard-pressed to do as much harm as VP as Satan has.

Not that it matters now, in the twilight of the American empire...

Made it race against time,

Once I had a railroad, now it's done,

Oh--TLB Pissy-pants is posting on crack monkey's site now? Remind me not to go there till after he gets banned!

BTW, if anyone was in doubt that the wanker brigade over at LP DOES read this site, well, they do. It's now proved. Here:

http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readart.cgi?ArtNum=127494

Now that I know that LPers do read here, pardon me while I just send them a message:

Hi LPers-For-Bush. I know you are good religious Christian or Jewish people. Palo Verde, I would just like to tell you that I pray nightly for the eternal damnation of all persons who support George W. Bush, including you. I am a non-violent person, but I can still pray for whatever I hope for God to do. And I think God will one day soon answer my prayers, and will smite you all, and send you to the lowest depths of hell. That will be the day of my salvation--my own personal "rapture", you might call it. Prayer changes things!

Love, h-a-l-f-w-i-t-t

IIRC, 82marine89 posted on LP that he was also USMCVet.

I'm not surprised. I never liked that little glory-holer when he used to post on here. I had not been to asstwat-clownposse in a long time, but went there today and saw him posting there.

I have fond memories of the time when he got all mad on LP and threw his Barbie doll at Goldi and at some female poster, before stalking out with his panties in a hopeless, sticky wad. He stayed away for a while, but eventually went crawling back like the pathetic little hermaphrodite that he is.

Always keep your curtains drawn when WUSSMCVet is in the area. Although many sexual perverts suffer from impotence and are hence incapable of rape, that doesn't mean they can't set a fire or throw a bomb in the window or something.

Badeye looks like like the high-school gym teacher who tried to hit on my friend Randy.

Okay, this one actually made me break out into raucous laughter.

Maybe they'll throw him a bone and pay him to hunt for pictures to post on the "A Day In The Life Of President Bush" threads on FR.

That would be an easy gig for Butteye. All he'd have to do is pour out the contents of his wallet and set about scanning and posting it. Wonder how many he's got of him with his lips on Bush's... well, you know. (Reminds me of the blog writer who, in reviewing Fred Barnes' new book, said "Fred Barnes' chin is being dusted for Bush's ball prints".)

LOL!

I had just come here after reading yet another one of palo's posts on LP where she talks about how "against the Iraq war" she was, and blah blah blah, and in the middle of all this sensible sounding stuff, she invariably places her little hook comment, which is something like, "I support President Bush and I voted for him".

I was originally just gonna say, "Dear palo, I pray nightly for your death and will continue to do so as long as you support George W. Bush. Love, h-a-l-f-w-i- t-t"

He's a complete fraud, He didn't know what a "jarhead" was.

Figures.

In 1947, the UN created a perpetual war and named it Israel.

Mind if I ask the name of the function at which this pic was taken?

The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism -- ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power. Franklin Delano Roosevelt
