Poster Comment:

This is crazier than the person who paid $2 for "nothing" on ebay. If you can sell "nothing" and be paid for it, you can sell anything... but a hotdog for over $TENGRAND$ is beyond reason... I'm still shakin' my head... Wanna bet it's all GOPer's bidding? tee hee... (just kidding about the GOPer folks...)

I used to believe that people couldn't have more money than they know what to do with. eBay auctions have changed my mind.

You can sell freakin' dirt on eBay. I was going to sell the concrete and asphalt cores I generate when I sample under roads here in CA, boss nixed it because they thought the state might carp about it. I know I could have gotten 10 or 20 bucks apiece for "Genuine California Freeway" core cylinders ;-)

Government blows, and that which governs least blows least...

I may consider selling blessings and good wishes... if they sell, next I'll advertise friendship... HEY, how about acceptance and love? Who doesn't want those things? Some might even be willing to pay for them... whatchoo think? LOL

Friendship and acceptance will be a quickly saturated market. Best to exploit the niche markets like acerbic or rapier wit and dopey sidekick. Nag, or online drinking buddy could be good too... I'd suggest that whipping boy would be an excellent one, but Badeye appears to have cornered the market in that. Curmudgeon? Overprotective Mom or Dad? Man, the possibilities are endless :-)

Why would the state object? Wouldn't they be able to collect a sales tax on the proceeds; assuming you're a citizen of that state?

Just the whole bureaucratic BS storm. My boss was worried some knob would see that as selling "state property" and give us grief. And you know once the ball got rolling the possibilities for idiots to make a mountain out of a proton are endless...

BTW, sales tax on eBay by non store sellers??? Snort!!! ARF!
