RT... Malaysia’s main airport is looking for the “untraceable owner” of three abandoned “international” Boeing 747 airplanes. So, before turning the lights out tonight, make sure you check the garage for any missing jets. Operators of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) were forced to place an advertisement in a Malaysian newspaper calling on the owner of three 747-200F aircraft, including two passenger aircraft and one cargo plane, to come forward. If you find that you are, indeed, down three Boeings, contact KLIA immediately. The notice, which appeared in Malaysian publication The Star on Monday, said: “If you fail to collect the aircraft within 14 days of the date of this notice, we reserve the right to sell or otherwise dispose of the aircraft". Airport staff expressed confusion. "I don’t know why they are not responding. There could be many reasons. Sometimes it could be because they have no money to continue operations," Zainol Mohd Isa, general manager of Malaysia Airports told AFP. KLIA are seeking payment. The mysterious owner owes the airport landing, parking and other charges. If they do not receive financial compensation by December 21, the planes will be sold or auctioned off to cover the outstanding costs. Ironically, this is the same airport that lost contact with Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 in March of 2014 with 239 passengers and crew on board. Journalism missing in action: How'd they get to that airport and then get parked without any personnel noticing? Wouldn't it require some kind of coordination (e.g. secret) by a network of airport staff to bring them in and then stash them? Above all, how is it possible for an airport to go without noticing extra airplanes for any length of time, short or long? I don't believe they're known for keeping a fleet of them on the premises. Isn't there no registry of huge planes anywhere? They force licensing of cars worldwide.
Umm...the planes filed a flight plan and landed like any other cargo/passenger jet and then parked them. That's it. No conspiracy necessary, it's all right out in the open.
That's exactly what I'm saying. How can there be any mystery who owns them? It doesn't add up. We keep getting news reports giving just the outline of a story, grossly deficient where the 5 (actually 6) Ws. I learned these at age 10 or 12 reading this book
The airport doesn't care about who owns an aircraft until they want a bill paid. If the plane was sold (sometimes more than once), then the airport is on the hook for an unpaid bill unless they can track down the current owner. Then the owner may balk at paying a bill that came with the aircraft sale. Plus, it's in 'that part of the world', shady deals abound and nobody wants to pay their bills anyway. In addition, the longer the aircraft sits the more maintenance ($$$) is necessary to make it airworthy again. At some point the aircraft might be declared abandoned and the airport will have to try and sell them just to recoup any bills/fee's that have accrued. If that doesn't work then they're sold for scrap. Third-world problems......
And traffic controllers first and main concern is safety of planes or their job is on the line. Also, there may be a huge number of planes going in and out, some for refueling, maintenance; plus there's the matter of cost savings by not having a department registering landings, etc.

Unless maybe their job is on the line if they don't send them into a warzone -- like MH17 and Iran Air Flight 655 (which was 4 miles west of the usual commercial airline route when shot down by the USS Vincennes: Ref.). The names of all those ATCs should have been reported by now.
Umm....air traffic controllers are ONLY concerned about takeoffs and landings. They Are Not responsible for the aircraft being parked on airport property.
