Have You Been Contacted by the BATFE?

Congress will do nothing to stop BATFE abuses of gun owners unless Congress hears from us loud and clear. Courts won’t protect our rights until they realize that our rights are being violated. Our publicizing the Glover matter – including the video of the botched BATFE “test” of the alleged “machine gun” – has already sent shockwaves through BATFE. That was just one example. Imagine the effects when we can report dozens, even hundreds of examples of BATFE harassment, hostility, heavy-handedness, and oppressive conduct!

As part of our Boot the BATFE campaign, we are asking firearms owners and dealers to help us collect reports of BATFE hostility, harassment and oppressive conduct. We need to get solid information, real case examples, and estimated counts of BATFE actions against us. Put on your boots, and help us get this job done.

If you have ever been contacted by the BATFE, please take a few minutes to complete the report form, available at www.jpfo.org/batfeform.htm>http://href="batfeform.htm">www.jpfo.org/batfeform.htm . And please, do so without delay. Our campaign can succeed only if we can gather this information rapidly. Speed builds momentum. Momentum causes change. And serious change is what we need in order to block BATFE from abusing gun owners. At the very least, the questionnaire will help eliminate the all-to-common dismissal of gun owners as "not knowing what they're talking about."

Don't forget that we have a variety of other Boot Tools to help our campaign and spread the word. Visit our online store at www.jpfo.org/store.htm>http://href="store.htm">www.jpfo.org/store.htm for stickers, t-shirts, pins, and of course the tape that started it all: "BATFE Fails the Test" ( http://www.jpfo.org/batfevideo.htm ).

The only thing necessary for the triumph of nasty government agencies is for citizens to do nothing. We have a Constitutional right to voice our grievances against overstepping agencies. Please report your BATFE incident (big or small) to us right away.

- The Liberty Crew

P.S. Naturally, some people may worry about providing this information to us for our survey of BATFE incidents. There is no reason for you to worry. We pledge to maintain the information in strict confidence. We will not voluntarily disclose this information to any government agency, nor to any outside business, organization or individual, without first asking for your written permission.

We do need truthful information, however, to be sure that our survey will be accurate. That is why we need your real name and location. We need your contact phone or e-mail also so that we can verify the report came from you, and so we can contact you if we need to ask permission to use the information.

What exactly IS BATFE? All of your links are dead ends.

I support PRESERVING our 2nd amendment gun rights and am against gun grabbers but I've never heard of this group?

Don't force feed me your views... talk to me so I can hear you...

JPFO = Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership
BATFE = Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

More bureauRATS to get in everyone's hair. If you are NOT engaged in the activity, they have no authority whatsoever. I'll tell you a story about how this works on another thread, since it does not relate to BATF and firearms. It does all operate under the same principle on which our form of government is based. And these bums, like most of the other alphabet soup agencies, have overstepped their bounds. They need a good slap to get them back where they belong, out of our lives.

The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism -- ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power. Franklin Delano Roosevelt

HOLY SHIT... well, around here we all 'em ATF... and I detest them!! The bastards ruined the life of some friends of ours by SETTING THEM UP and then arresting them for infractions of the law. This was in the late 70's. They were stripped of their rights, sentenced to terms that were suspended, and forced to close their businesses which were their LIVELIHOOD!!

One of them was an elderly man who'd run a legitimate gun shot for well over 50 years, was widely respected, and honest. The man had a serious heart condition and was semi retired anyway. What they did was send scruffy fellas into the shops day after day trying to conduct illegal trades or purchases to entrap them. One kid came in trying to sell an old shotgun for cash. The elderly dealer didn't want it but felt sorry for him and finally agreed to the deal. He was supposed to log the purchase in his books immediately but he's already closed for the evening, his supper was waiting, and he was exhausted... He decided to log it in the morning. They arrested him the next morning when he opened before he could log it... THEN left him in a cell all day without his heart meds... and dragged his good name through the mud... all to get rid of small gun shops and futher erode gun rights in MASSACHUSETTS....

Don't force feed me your views... talk to me so I can hear you...

Oh, yes, these scumbags are good at this sort of thing. I doubt any of them has the balls to go one on one with anyone else. They are the dregs of the earth. It happens all the time. It's like a Dutch friend of mine said to me, "The tide always turns." These jerks will get their comeuppance, and sooner rather than later.

I was about to ask..you don't know who the ATF are? ;)

Yeah, that story of yours sounds all to familiar. They pulled the same crap on a friend of mine: http://www.survival-enterprises.com/summary.html

They have been doing this for a long time. Waco and Ruby-Ridge being the most notable, but there must be MANY unreported abuses. Congresional hearings in the 80s found that ATF goes after innocent people 75% of the time.

Siagiah, would you tell your friend about this JPFO Alert? You may also want to let him/them know about http://atfabuse.com/.

Both http://ATFAbuse.com and JPFO have been eager as of late to gather a library of ATF's systematic abuse of gun-ownership. ATFABuse.com is new and still just begining. JPFO has been around for a while and is a pretty well-known pro-gun group.

This is encouraging news. BATF is, and has been, the Getsapo of America for decades and it is long past due for there to be a repository of information about their actions. Waco was a publicity-stunt; they rely on their headlines. They go after people for a quota and selfish reasons. People need to know the truth.

Oh, and PLEASE spread the word!

I would love to see a strong push behind this cause...and a well-known pro-gun is even in on it. It's seems alot of people know somebody who's been hit. It could be happening more often that you think. There was a guy on FR(bletfed398) who had an experience. There is Siagiah here on F4.

It was done to 3 of my friends back then. That was in just ONE SMALL TOWN, Townsend, MA, where I lived at the time. There were many more in other towns but I didn't know the other victims. Each of my friends was hounded by agents posing as buyers, set up in any way possible, and then taken down for technicalities they made mistakes on. Pure entrapment.

Know what else? MY phone was tapped for months afterwards. Why? Because my then b.f. & I showed up at one of their houses the morning of the arrests. We were licensed to carry and were. My b.f. had applied for the licensing necessary to open his own shop and had come over to discuss a partnership. He tore it up rather than have that happen to him. Those fellas lost their license to carry or to even OWN a gun... Guns were their lives and their passion. My b.f. was young and scared that they'd destroy him too.

I will tell my friends about it but the elderly man is long dead and the others moved to NH years ago because NH doesn't require a license to own guns so they have 'em in their wive's names... They live not far from me now. However, all the guys lost their right to vote as well as their right to own firearms and never got 'em back. They got 'em on felonies even though the infractions were as minor as logging in a purchase the following day.

Another thing, the ATF confiscated their guns from their inventories and kept ie: STOLE the most valuable, rare ones!! Their attorney's tried in vain to get them back but they simply "disappeared" from the lockups... They were never compensated for 'em either.

Don't force feed me your views... talk to me so I can hear you...

I will tell my friends about it...

Thank you Siagiah.

Many storys like yours are floating around. I hope such storys can be recorded in detail and gathered. That's the goal of places like http://ATFAbuse.com.

Again, much appreciated.

Many have had their lives destroted, I don't want to see them disapear into night.

Actually I think you should stay here and get off Free Republic. My experiences on my second stint at FR show me that gun rights are NOT as high a priority with FR as promoting Republicans EVEN IF THEY ARE KNOWN GUN GRABBERS like Rudolph Giuliani and Au-nald at FR, GUN RIGHTS ARE A PRIORITY HERE.

Ah, but if he posts there TOO, he may influence someone to have more concerns about his issues whereas if he ONLY posts here, he's preaching to the choir...

If gun right advocates are to emerge victorious, we must INFLUENCE those who are on the fence. It's all about winning converts and educating folks about guns and gun rights. The opposition has the advantage when it comes to a populace ignorant of the truth about gun grabbers. They read the headlines and think OH MY GOD, LOOK WHAT GUNS DID TO THAT (insert victim) instead of realizing that guns don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people....
