While housing bubbles around the world are imploding from a sudden withdrawal of foreign capital (most recently exposed in Manhattan's 9-year high vacancy rate) there is still an excess of greater fools clinging to their unicorn dreams in the Bay Area to keep San Francisco home prices exuberant and rental costs through the roof... or in the case of this unbelievable Craigslist offering - through the floor... Located just off the intersection of Pine and Divisadero (a nice area of the city) With rent skyrocketing in San Francisco, desperate times call for desperate measures and we recently came up with the idea to rent our crawl space out to cash strapped young San Franciscans. We aren't going to sugar coat this, as you can see by the photos, this is a basement crawl space and the ground is un-even. My roommate Neil has agreed to help out and level off the dirt crawl floor and we have some scraps of rug to throw down. Poster Comment: This situation is due to unlimited legal and illegal immigration. PS. This is not Pacific Heights though it is nearby. Lots of black folk two blocks down Divisadero st.

Just lovely. Glad I am in a small one-bedroom place. If times were really tough, I might be in that basement. Luckily, my disability pay takes care of the rent and utilities and gas here. ;)

Can you imagine paying 500/month to crawl into your dirt apartment that "may" have some carpet scraps to "live" on? I was in Detroit years ago making a delivery to a produce house. One night, a black girl came up to the truck wanting to talk to me. All of a sudden, four guys came running off that dock. They beat the crap out of the black girl and a black guy that was sneaking up on the blind side of the truck. Then, they threw them out in the middle of the busy street. I said the them, "Hey, are you going to leave them there?" They said, "Darn right we are. You KNOW what they were going to do to you." I don't think so. I always carried the heat with me. ;)
