For example, your mental speed may be slow, your memory may be difficult to access, and chances are, your brain batteries are so drained and corroded that you constantly feel tired and mentally sluggishlike an old computer or cell phone that cant keep a charge. Sound familiar? If so, you may be experiencing something I call Brain Drain, caused by lack of sleep, too much stress and a deficiency of key neuro-nutrients in the foods you eat. But fortunately, there are several simple strategies that you can easily put in place to remedy this disastrous problem, and thats why Im here today: to give you total peace of mind and to instantly erase the worry and frustration you have surrounding the health and performance of your brain by sharing with you those simple yet extremely effective and powerful tips. In fact, in the next few minutes Im actually going to share with you my Doctor-Approved 10-Second Ultimate Brain-Drain Solution... Yes, believe it or not, in just 10 seconds a day your brain will feel recharged, your focus will be enhanced, and your mind will be sharpened. Ive shared this 10-second super-brain tip with hundreds of my patients, and today, Im going to share it with you. But before I do, its critically important that we first quickly cover the three major causes contributing directly to your brain drain... The first cause of brain drain is regular depletion of those neuro-nutrients I mentioned earlier. Neuro-nutrients are like food for your brain. Without these nutrients in healthy supply, your brain is constantly fighting drain and fatigue. These neuro-nutrients help your brain in three specific ways. First, they help with your immediate short-term focus and memory. Second, they aid your brain in long-term memory function. And finally, they help nourish and protect your brain. This is done by increasing oxygen and nutrient-rich blood flow while suppressing the stress hormone cortisol that kills brain cells.2-6 Its vital that your brain receives all three of these zones of protection, or Im afraid your state of brain drain will only continue to get worse. The second key contributor to brain drain is poor blood flow to the brain. Picture blood flow to your brain as water to a thirsty plant. If theres a kink in the hose, the plant doesnt get enough water to keep it alive. This same thing happens when your heart tries to pump oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to your brain. As you age, your heart and blood vessels can get kinked by losing the elasticity needed for optimal circulation. Whats more, a poor diet can have an even further negative impact on your circulatory system, limiting blood flow and suffocating brain tissue. The third and final cause of brain drain that I need to warn you about are brain toxins found in the foods you eat, the beverages you drink (including water, believe it or not), and many other everyday items that youre constantly being exposed tothese toxins act like a computer virus inside your brain. The first of these toxins is the fluoride found in most tap water... In one study, two groups of children drank water with high and low levels of fluoride. The children drinking high-fluoride water had a statistically lower median IQ.14 Another is the extremely common artificial sweetener aspartame. In a recent study published in the journal Redox Biology, aspartamefound in many diet foods and drinkswas shown to generate free radicals that can trigger the death of brain cells.15 Furthermore, studies show that foods containing high fructose corn syrup and even excess sugarlike many yogurts, beverages, desserts and condimentscan also damage and shrink the brain.16 Not to mention sugars profound effect on causing mental distraction in both kids and adults.17 And get this, many non-organic veggies like corn, soy, beets, zucchini and even summer squash are high in genetically modified organisms (GMOs) due to Frankenstein farming practices implemented by the food industry to allow for high dose chemical pesticide and herbicide use that would otherwise destroy the natural, organic versions of these crops. These GMOs can also be found in baby foods, most granola bars, virtually all breakfast cereals, breads, pastas, and even potentially within the protein fibers of the meat from animals that eat corn and soy like cattle and chickens. Why is this bad? Research shows, in simple terms, that GMOs can cause Brain Rancidity, meaning the vital omega-3 fats in your brain are literally caused to go rancid and become toxic.18 Furthermore, the coffee industry is experimenting with the use of the pesticide Endosulfan which is so toxic that a worldwide ban is being considered by the United Nations.19 Who would have thought your morning coffee could be beating up your brain? And if that wasnt bad enough, even moderate alcohol consumption has been shown to damage brain neurons, cell phone and WIFI radiation (which is practically unavoidable) has been linked to disruption of the protective blood-brain barrier (allowing greater levels of toxins into the brain that would otherwise be shielded), and the use of aluminum based antiperspirants and deodorants can cause toxic build-up of heavy metals in the brain.20-22 To add insult to injury, new research even shows that the electromagnetic radiation emitted by cell phones may disrupt the DNA of your delicate brain cells leading to brain dysfunction.23 How many hours per week do you use your cell phone? It all sounds very overwhelming, and it is. In fact, you may be feeling as if theres nothing you can do to improve and protect your brain unless you make radical changes in your food, beverage, and overall lifestyle choices.
