Trump: Bill Clinton 'Fair Game' in Presidential Race

Former President Bill Clinton's past with women is "fair game" in this year's race, where his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the Democratic frontrunner, says GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

"I think he is fair game because his presidency was really considered to be very troubled, to put it mildly, because of all the things she's talking to me about," Trump said of Clinton on Sunday morning's "Fox & Friends" on Fox News Channel. "I mean, she's actually mentioning sexism."

The latest feud between Hillary Clinton and Trump came when he used a term some say is a vulgar Yiddish word for a part of the male anatomy to describe her 2008 defeat by President Barack Obama. Trump insists the word is commonly used in New York to mean soundly defeated and isn't vulgar at all.

Hillary Clinton came out swinging against Trump for using the word, saying he has a "penchant for sexism."

Trump responded on Twitter, warning Clinton not to play the "woman card," and hinting he might have something to say about Bill Clinton's past with women if she did.

Things didn't cool down over the next few days, so Trump was back on Twitter on Saturday:

"I turned her words against her from that standpoint," Trump told Fox. "And she's got to be careful. You know, it's got to be fair."

Trump said he's had many women tell him he has to keep her out of the White House.

"She's just terrible. She's playing the woman's card left and right," Trump said. "And women are more upset about it than anybody else, including most men."

As for Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul saying he won't participate in the next Fox Business Channel debate if he is moved to the undercard group, Trump said he agrees with him. Trump also said he'd like to see the field winnowed further to four or five candidates, but he wouldn't name who they should be.

Trump continued his attacks on Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who has been running third in the Republican polls. He also attacked South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, who has said he will travel with Rubio in Iowa, though he said he is not endorsing Rubio.

"I just read about that and hope he does a better job than he did frankly in the Benghazi hearings because they were a total disaster," Trump said.

Bill Clinton is ex-president. It's not the same if he were the potential first lady.

Sorry - but a steady diet of attacks on Bill Clinton would be counter productive. The country has more or less made peace with Bill. It could turn off a lot of fair minded people, whose votes you need.

Now if Bill starts to campaign for Hillary – that is a different story.

I believe that he'll be taking more of an approach as Roger Stone (his confidant and consultant for thirty years) details in his The Clinton's War on Women book which excoriates them both, equally well.

Alas, the country was never in the least at war with Slick. It's t-o-l-e-r-a-t-e-d his every show of hubris since the beginning and is still no doubt paying him 6 or 7 figures for each bleating, er, speaking appearance.

If the new Trump isn't based on calling rats like Slick exactly what they are, it's just another mirage for sure.
