It's the Tree of Life, which is supposed to represent the ten manifestations of God in our Universe. It is also a blueprint to the human soul, as that is what is meant by that passage in Genesis that states Man was created in God's likeness. It's the soul that it was talking about, not the physical form.

What a freaking idiot!

The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism -- ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power. Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Hmmmm....we could dig up Jerry Garcia and team him with Peter Best and call them "The Best of the Dead"

Yeah, maybe a quarter ounce of coke would bring Jerry back to life.

And then there's Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. A gallon of some good Scotch would prime the pump with Robert, but Page you would need top pump him up with some good China white to get him motivated.

And, I saw some damn good hooters shots at Plant's show once. ROTFLOL!

It's the soul that it was talking about, not the physical form.

That's not what I got taught when I was a kid going to Sunday school. But then again, the teachings of Christianity have become so confused and confusing that it's little wonder that nobody really believes in it any longer. Oh sure, people are supposedly more religious than ever before, yet I never see any Christians out on the streets giving aid and comfort to the legions of homeless people I see every day. They're too busy driving their cars past them while talking on their cell phones to notice or care.

If they really believed in the teachings of Jesus they would be swarming the homeless with offers of aid, handing over food and providing shelter while teaching the word, but instead they rush past on their way to work or on their way home or on the way to the shopping mall. Churches are no longer places of worship and contemplation, they are social gatherings where people network and show off their new clothes and their new cars, while the preacher/minister/poobah at the altar exhorts the faithful to contribute towards construction of the new playroom for their kiddies or a new roof for the auxillery building. This is what happens when a society's faith dies.

There are certainly a bunch of wimps, eunuchs, and girly men and dike wimmen hanging out over there, it seems to me. It seems like they have hooks thru their noses and are led along the group think path like a bull is led via a leadrope with a clasp thru the nose ring--makes them rather mild and compliant with a gentle 'movement' of the rope.

Yeah, I was fishing around and found this article on El Pee. You might like to look at it.

Resurrected from the catacombs of lunacy and human wickedness past, mutating to the dictates of malice and corruption present, becoming the oxygen by which tyrants thrive, the voices by which hate prospers and the muscle by which the worst in the human condition grows, the army of fascism, birthed by brainwashed conditioning and bred in ignorance, unwillingly serves the masters who have created it, becoming its own worst enemy, the force that will self implode upon the evisceration of the freedoms, rights and democracy it took for granted.

Geez..yes...that sentence should win some sort of Pulitzer Prize.

that is what is meant by that passage in Genesis that states Man was created in God's likeness. It's the soul that it was talking about, not the physical form.

And also the mind's ability to create. What man can create, man can also destroy. The creative capacity of the mind of man is indeed a double edge sword.

I appreciate the sentiments, Brian, but I don't miss it. Running a forum and trying to be fair to all sides is a thankless task. Arbitrating disputes takes a lot of hours that go uncompensated, and then when you're done, half the people slam you for your final decision.

I was at the point of hardly ever voicing my own opinion on matters since managing the site took first precedence, and I decided my own energy was better spent elsewhere. It was a pessimistic time for me also, when I didn't see any real hope that my efforts would make the smallest difference in bringing attention to the importance of liberty. Those naysayers who favor the invasion of Iraq and mindlessly chearlead GWB simply because he's an official member of the Republican team and an anti-democrat regardless of how truely unRepublican his policies are, deserve to wallow in their ignorance. If they are being paid to desecrate their Rights, then they deserve to live without them.

People are free to think and decide how they will, and are also free to decide who they will and will not listen to. If they choose poorly, then in the end, it's their own fault.

Makes me want to do some more BE counts, which can be done from the LC page. To date, Badeye has posted about 59,300 times on LP. That out of a total pool of about 1.593 million posts.

He's responsible for about 3.7% of LP activity, which is about 1 post in 27 over the life of LP. And that's not accounting for the time he wasn't posting, such as prior to his arrival and the time I had banned him. He only had about 20,000 posts when I banned him so he's added about twice that count since returning in about 18 months time, which is an average of about 106 times every business day.

The ability of someone to do this really highlights a flaw in the free speech forum theory, which namely is the assumption that no participant could possibly have the resources to post these dramatic counts or that people would only post when they have something meaningful to say.

A software solution would be to limit everyone's posting to a certain amount per day or, perhaps, week. The weekly approach would allow for spikes on particular days when something significant happens.

Starwind, I thought you'd particularly appreciate BE's latest stats...
