I don't want to sound cold hearted but I find it difficult to muster up much sympathy for todays' vets. There is no draft and what's become of returning vets is no secret yet they continue to enlist. As long as they continue to enlist, the Empire will always have its' storm troopers for its' maniacal foreign policy.....and more broken vets

Same here. In fact, I don't even try. The US government is the enemy of almost everything that I hold dear, and its armed forces are are the primary weapon that it uses to spread death, desolation, and misery around he world. I expend my sympathy on more worthy objects than the empire's wounded shock troops.

First and foremost, anyone that votes for and pays taxes to support this government, is in fact an employer of soldiers.
Second...The large majority of these people are from the lowest class of society, the same people that would be subject to a draft. The only difference being that now we have to pay them more than a draftee.
In my lifetime there have been two peacetime drafts enacted by government, it will happen again, Who will be drafted? The same members of society we now vent our hatred towards.
No "volunteers", it may well be you or offspring that are drafted.
Horse is correct> But when I say this to vets, they get really pissed off. They, the vets, will not look at the truth. They are suffering and dieing for the bankers.
