Those days are long since over. Nowadays kids cant wear shirts with American flags to school, shirts with NRA logos are banned, chants of U.S.A. arent allowed at sporting events and things like the confederate flag are all but banned. Thats why Sears is catching some heat
they were just busted censoring the precise wording that appears on the second amendment on a Zippo lighter theyre selling online. Thats a bit ridiculous dont you think? SHTFPlan writes: While not necessarily earth shattering, the following report sent to us by a reader demonstrates the false patriotism we see across the entire retail sphere. Its not about celebrating Americas exceptionalism or cultural history; its all about the dollars. A quick search for Zippo brand lighters at the Sears web site shows a variety of results that include lighters with American flags, Bald eagles, the United States Marine Corps, and even American Pride. But apparently that pride and Patriotism dont extend to the actual laws that have governed our land for nearly a quarter of a millennium , the second of which preserves the right of all Americans to bear arms. As youll notice from the screenshot below, the lighters decal cuts off just perfectly enough to be politically correct: The Right Of The People To Bear
sears-zippo-1b We thought perhaps it was an error
but the product page itself shows a similarly edited image. sears-zippo-2 Despite the image censorship, youll notice the product description provides the full text that is to be displayed on the lighter. The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed We suspect this was a serious oversight by the thought police and someone at corporate needs to be reprimanded immediately. In any case, for just $19.84 you can proudly display the Second Amendment with this brushed chrome windproof lighter. This lighter is perfect symbol of the freedoms of the United States. Given the current state of affairs in the United States where Constitutional liberties are being supplanted at every turn, especially with respect to the Second Amendment, this may indeed be the perfect symbol for how freedoms in America have been redefined in recent years. Honestly what does this say about the country we live in? A major retailer censoring the very thing that keeps them free enough to sell the products they desire is the epitome of contradiction. Why are companies like Sears and Walmart among others being so PC? Do they really think every American wants things to be completely vanilla and straight laced? Whats your belief? Do you think this is all because American companies are loosing their nerve and caving to liberal pressure? Poster Comment: I was in a Sears store in Chicago when I was a young man. I was dressed the same way as I usually do with jeans and jean jacket. There was a girl working there and she said to me, "I've see a lot of people wearing jeans, but you're the first one I've seen that looks comfortable in them." It turns out she was originally from TEXAS! ROTFLOL! Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
