War, War, War See other War, War, War Articles Title: Collapse of Farcical Syrian Peace Talks: It's Russia's Fault Collapse of Farcical Syrian Peace Talks: It’s Russia’s Fault by Stephen Lendman Russia’s devastatingly effective aerial campaign, aiding Syrian ground forces retake earlier lost territory, jeopardizes Washington’s regional imperial project - its ability to achieve longterm objectives considerably weakened. Farcical Syrian peace talks collapsed. Opposition groups dominated by terrorists committed to the nation’s destruction won’t negotiate except on unacceptable terms. No responsible leader would agree. Talks were dead on arrival. Resuming them is doubtful. Resolving things diplomatically is pure fantasy. Endless conflict shows no letup. Russian air power continues aiding Syrian ground forces advance steadily, strengthening Assad’s government, enhancing his bargaining position. John Kerry irresponsibly blamed Russia for peace talks breaking down. His office released a duplicitous statement, saying Moscow and Damascus “clearly signaled their intention to seek a military solution rather than enable a political one.” Kerry separately said “(w)e call upon the regime and its supporters (aka Russia) to halt their bombardment of opposition-held areas, especially in Aleppo, and to lift their besiegement of civilians in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions 2165, 2254 and 2258.” Fact: Syrian and Russian operations fully comply with international law, including Security Council resolutions - attacking ISIS and other terrorist groups exclusively. No so-called “moderate rebels” exist. Fact: US-created ISIS and other terrorist groups want Syria destroyed, its Shia and Alawite populations exterminated, a tyrannical caliphate established, holding the entire population hostage. Fact: Syria and Russia are committed to preventing this scourge from achieving its objectives. America and its rogue allies support it. Washington wants conflict continued, not ended. It wants the Middle East map redrawn, all sovereign independent countries eliminated, replaced by balkanized US-controlled puppet regimes - a nightmarish objective if achieved. Western media and many alternative sources persist in calling Syria’s conflict “civil.” It’s US naked aggression, Obama’s war, Hillary Clinton as secretary of state involved in orchestrating it, importing terrorists from scores of foreign countries, using them as proxy forces to oust a legitimate popular government. Russia justifiably supports Syrian sovereignty and the right of its people alone to choose who’ll lead them - not America, other imperial allies or rogue partners. Major media systematically lie, ignoring US-state-sponsored terrorism, waging war on humanity, raping and pillaging one independent nation after another for not surrendering to Washington rules. Ordinary people worldwide have a choice: resist America’s pure evil or be victimized by it. For millions, it means resist or perish. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago.
