Title: Were the Germans Too Nice?

......."Britain prides itself on not having fallen to the Reich. The forces of the Reich in fact overran Britain’s Channel Islands. Of that occupation author Charles Cruickshank writes:

"The German behavior was correct; that they were quite amiably received by most people; there was no real sabotage and no real resistance movement. That as long as there was food, the civilians had their fair share and the conditions for the islanders were a good deal better than it was for the Wehrmacht in May 1945.

(Repeated, awkward use of the words "correct" and "correctness" seems strange. No clue why this would be -- doesn't appear to be a [re-]translation from the German, doesn't appear those words were more current back then. "Correcto" means "right" in Spanish, that's as close as I can get -- not very. NN)

The standard explanation is that the Germans behaved "correctly" toward both countries and armies of the West but the East was a different story.

Few years back I was in Normandy and the guide (a Breton) described the damage done to Normandy was from the Allies, not the Germans. Of course, the French were known as "a nation of collaborateurs", but basically they got along just fine. In return when Germany was partitioned among the 4 victorious powers, the Germans preferred the French to the other three.

1) Hitler liked the English too much. He did not move to capture the English at Dunkirk. But he did capture 150,000 British soldiers.

2) Hitler should have made demands that all European nations including Italy he held accountable for their overseas Empires. That would have delayed Italy's entry into the war which would have prevented them from getting Hitler involved in Italian military excursions which only delayed his entry into Russia. If he had taken Moscow, he could have won the war.

3) Everyone wanted to make a fuel air explosive. They did not know that the first explosion which spread the fuel out over the atmosphere had to be followed 25 milliseconds later by the second explosion which ignited it so all the air in the radius of a kilometer was consumed thus killing all humans in that area. Also all propeller driven planes would fall to the ground.

Yeah, it's to his great credit he wanted no trouble with the Brits -- but in a sense, you have to wonder how he could have been so naïve. Even if he was just being super-diplomatic with one of the most predatory entities in all history we can appreciate him for it.

Just think what a different world it would be if he had somehow taken Moscow.... and if the leadership of UK and US hadn't already been so Jue-subverted! (I'm agreeing with you.)

I wouldn't call it sucking up (and not only because its such a vulgar yankeeism)..... but get this! Michael Rivero, Part Jueish and normally known for being too soft on the Chosen and accredited victim groups*, WENT TO TOWN on Nazi decency and WW2 reality on Monday's show -- about 30:30 on here:

Everybody's seeing it at once -- gradually. When Ted Nugent sees AND SHOWCASES it, it's only a matter of time till the Holohoax falls with a crash, never to rise again.

Wow! I had never seen Rivero up until now although I have occasionally peeked in at his website. Did the first hour and will do the second tomorrow. He is damned good.

You and he almost have me convinced on the Holocaust.

So I will change "sucking up" to "Hitler's attempt to woo England was an error on his part." He would have been better to ignore the Soviets and given those resources to Rommell so that he could cut across the Middle East and meet up with the Japanese in India.

Remember the movie, "Bridge Over the River Kwai"? That was the Japs forcing prisoners of war to build a railroad bridge. William Holden was an American prisoner who escaped and came back with Special Forces to blow the bridge. ;)

I remember the movie and even walked across the bridge which is still standing.

The Japanese were terrible to their prisoners and expected the same treatment from us once they surrendered. Say what you want about Douglas MacArthur but he was a good administrator. Some Japanese even turned Christian because of his treatment of them.

I remember the horror stories my mother told us of what she knew about the war from the home front.

And then there were movies that portrayed what went on during the war. I recall one movie about Guadalcanal that was interesting and seemed very harsh. But that was war, and it continues to be the same way today. And even worse today when you consider the newest weapons. ;)

Rivero has outstanding info for us, as well as great analysis. Enjoy.

. I recall one movie about Guadalcanal that was interesting and seemed very harsh.

A young cousin of my mother enlisted in the Marines right after graduation from prep school and ended up in Guadalcanal. Reading the news the family thought he was a dead duck if only because he was a soft momma's boy. He came out without a scratch and only years later did we find out why when one of his men spoke of him at a reunion and credited him with saving his life.

Not only did he have a good education but he was intelligent and using math could figure out where the Japanese were going to attack next and had the defenses prepared.

WHOA. Trenchant interp of that scripture (Eccl. 10:16) -- considering dynasties were kind of appointed by God. Mebbe the Ecclesiast is agreeing with Samuel that 'twere far better if Israel had kept God as their only king.

Or mebbe he was referring to the kind of "children" we keep getting for Pezidents?

NN< if you go to this link http://podcast.gcn liv e.com/podcast/whatReallyHappened/ and look at the page carefully you will see another link there which reads older archives. if you click on that you can go to a page that you can download years of WRH programs in order.

also, on the front page of WRH on the right side is an icon which reads RON GIBSON'S WRH ARCHIVES. this is the guy who posts daily show on video (youtube) commercial free, daily. its basically 3 hours 40 minutes each without ads. so it is about a 2 hour video., of the show, daily.

myself I download the mp3 from gcn and listen to them while driving. great way to pass the time!

return to monarchy

NEVER! You recall that during the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1789, the delegates boarded up the windows so no one could spy on the proceedings.

When the final results were in, many of the new states would not agree to the new Constitution without a Bill of Rights. The First Amendment spells out our rights and the Second spells out how to protect those rights, with an armed citizenry. You know the rest of the story. ;)

Mebbe the Ecclesiast is agreeing with Samuel that 'twere far better if Israel had kept God as their only king.

The Ellesiast was not the least bit religious, so he was probably just observing that when a child was on the throne, a country's neighbors tended to be aggressive towards it and the aristocracy was inclinded not to be bothered mounting a defense.

God ruled through the judges and the problem was that the judges became corrupt. Samues was okay but his sons were not.

Yep. I've come to respect the old boy -- he sees the absurdity as well as the viciousness and futility of life. Used to hate him for "harping" on such! We may have to make him the honorary president of VHEMT even tho' the office doesn't exist.

He said it! Sometimes I think the Bible is simply a survey of the human condition -- some scenes with a moral message, some not. Vanity, all is vanity -- he said it, I didn't!

Sometimes I think the OT was supposed to be a comedy but that part got lost in translation (6,000-year game of "telephone'). The children of Israel would be "Exhibit B" i.e. how nations and individuals should not behave. Boneheads!!! SCURVY KNAVES!

King David, "a man after God's own heart", was a bit Clintonesque in his presidency. Now I'm talking like all the gliberal preachers we conservatives have been assailing all these years. A stop clock is right twice a day.......
