War, War, War See other War, War, War Articles Title: US Warplanes Bomb Libya US Warplanes Bomb Libya by Stephen Lendman Two days after the five-year anniversary of US-led NATO naked aggression on Libya, US warplanes attacked again - on the phony pretext of targeting ISIS, including an alleged Tunisian terrorist. “American warplanes struck an Islamic State camp in Libya” 50 miles west of Tripoli, The NYT reported. It claimed “at least 30 (ISIS) recruits” killed, others injured. The attack occurred pre-dawn Friday. According to The Times, the usual unnamed “Western official” was cited, saying the strike targeted Noureddine Chouchane - suspected (true or false) of involvement in two terrorist attacks in Tunisia last year. Washington created and continues supporting ISIS, deploying its fighters to US war theaters and other strategic locations. The Times and its unnamed source claiming it attacked its own foot soldiers is baseless propaganda. An earlier article discussed Britain intending to deploy about 1,000 special forces on the pretext of combating ISIS - to be joined by thousands more US, French and Italian combat troops. Have they arrived or are they on their way, timed with the Pentagon’s overnight strike - operating illegally without government or Security Council authorization? Libya already is devastated by US-led NATO 2011 naked aggression, followed by endless violence, instability, chaos and dysfunctional governance. Two rival factions compete for control. Unity remains elusive. Numerous tribal groups have their own agenda. Gaddafi successfully held things in check for decades, maintaining stability. His absence caused a great unraveling. Endless violence and turmoil followed - expected by US and NATO partners before attacking Libya in 2011. Washington didn’t strike ISIS forces overnight, assets it supports, helping them gain a foothold in Sirte, a platform to seize additional Libyan territory - the same scenario followed in Syria and Iraq. It’s unclear who US warplanes bombed. Does Washington intend Libya 2.0 - complicit with Britain, France and Italy? Western drones and reconnaissance aircraft have been operating in Libyan airspace for months - their warplanes positioned to launch strikes with or without authorization. Was America’s overnight strike the first of many more to come? What do they aim to achieve? Libya is already a dystopian wasteland, a failed state. Is Washington helping ISIS become more entrenched on its territory than already - perhaps using it to expand cross-border to neighboring countries, maybe infest North Africa entirely? US ruthlessness operates the same way everywhere, the human cost of no consequence. After all Libyans endured over the past five years, unspeakable suffering, they may now face new US-led aggression, more horrors about to unfold - laying greater waste to an already raped and destroyed country.
