Inside are furniture, toys, home- canned goods, restorable grand piano, computer equipment. Kudos to this guy for documenting it and giving the DC-shaming story...... DC ate a huge piece of Stafford County, Va., to expand the QUANTICO BASE during the GOOD WAR and gave my ancestors mere weeks to get off property they'd farmed for generations. Life under imperial power, gang! Think of that the next time you see the barber pole flag snapping in the breeze, please...... The worst of it is that the victims of these "TAKINGS" were prolly apolitical or even jingoistic before and afterward. I put sarc quotes around "American flag" because AFAIC the real one has a big X in the middle. NN) URBAN EXPLORATION: ABANDONED COLONIAL FARMHOUSE Built in the 1800s, this old massive farmhouse in Upstate New York sits vacant decaying everyday. A good bit of stuff was left in this place. Its not trashed like a lot of the places I been to also. From reports, its been vacant for about 6 years now. So here the story. Imagine the federal government knocking on your door saying you have 3 months to move out of your house, here is a check for the homes value, this house and land is now ours. Yes that is exactly what happened to this place in the 60s. You had no choice, you had to leave. All of this b/c of a project the government was trying to do that would affect the land this home was on. It wasnt just this house, many others in this area also, some still standing like this one, others demolished. This project 10 years later than was halted / cancelled due to money issues. These houses remained abandoned until a land service picked up the property with many abandoned houses / farms still on it. This home was rented out in the 1990s - 2000s but was then vacant starting around 2008-2009. It remains that way to this day. The life of this home is unknown. The only reason it still stands is the historical value.. Video to follow. As always, like, comment, share. Enjoy!
