Every time theres a shooting (typically a mass shooting) its us, the gun owners desire the second amendment not be curtailed to blame. Not the violent criminal or their typical reliance on psychoactive pharmaceuticals. And their most recent attempt to besmirch gun owners is reprehensible. See, this is what happened. Jeb Bush went and toured the FN factory to help endear himself to gun owners. Truly Jeb needs all the help he can get. While there FN gifted him with his own gun and they laser cut his name on the top. Well the Washington Post thought this a fitting time to inform their readership about FNs military past, where at one time they supplied guns to the German army. Heres what Bob Ownes wrote: Their latest cheap shot at Republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush by education reporter T. Rees Shapiro revolves around the engraved handgun Republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush was given yesterday in Columbia, South Carolina, as he visited gun maker FN America. Jeb Bush was presented with this FN America-manufactured FNX -45 yesterday. The FNX-45 was developed for the U.S. Joint Combat Pistol Program. Attempting to go for the lowest of cheap shots, Shapiro attempted to use FN to link Bush to the Nazis. No, Im not kidding. The handgun tweet posted by Bush came after a tour and town hall with employees at the FN plant. The tweet has exploded online and has the potential to boost his image among Southerners beyond South Carolina who value the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms. But the manufacturer of the handgun shown in Bushs picture has a history of its own. While the company is known as FN America, it is actually a subsidiary of FN Herstal, a foreign corporation based in Belgium. And for decades, the company was known as Fabrique Nationale dArmes de Guerre. During World War II, the company was requisitioned by the Nazi military and its factories produced thousands of weapons for Axis troops, including pistols carried by Nazi officers and pilots. One model, the Browning-designed Hi-Power, was used by both the Allies and Axis powers during the war, with FN factories manufacturing a version of the popular handgun for the German military. Shapiro is trying incredibly hard to link anyone who has an affinity for FNs or who owns an FN to the Nazis. How ridiculous. Does that mean people who drive VWs or anyone who owns a beer stein is also a Nazi lover? Obviously not. The notions ridiculous but its the staple of todays world of journalism. Whether you like Bush or not, youve got to admit this is a low blow, right? Poster Comment: At least we know what side of the gun issue Jeb is on. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
