In mid-February, the UN office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said Israel demolished virtually all structures in the Palestinian Bedouin Ein Ar Rashash community - on the phony pretext of families lacking permits to build on their own land. Since January alone, Israeli forces destroyed hundreds of Palestinian homes and other structures across the West Bank, displacing over 1,000 people, including around 500 children. According to OCHA, “(m)ore than a third of the structures targeted since the beginning of the year were provided as humanitarian assistance to families in need.” Now their gone, Israeli viciousness destroying them. On March 4, OCHA reported “wide-scale demotions in Khirbet Tana,” dozens of Palestinian homes and other structures bulldozed. The community is home to about 250 people, relying on “herding and agriculture for their livelihood.” They need grazing land for their livestock. No matter how horrifically they’re persecuted, their only choice is remaining. They have nowhere else to go, no other source of income. The community, like 38 others in the West Bank, is located in what Israel calls a “firing zone,” a pretext for prohibiting construction, Palestinians denied the right to build on their own land. Demolitions are continuing at the fastest rate since Netanyahu became prime minister in March 2009, OCHA explained. Israel systematically spurns its obligations as an occupying power, denying Palestinians their fundamental rights. A 2015 OCHA report, titled “Under Threat: Demolition Orders in Area C of the West Bank” said data released by Israeli authorities indicate “over 11,000 demolition orders (affect) an estimated 13,000 Palestinian-owned structures, including homes…” Israel is systematically stealing all valued Judea and Samaria land, Palestinians ruthlessly displaced, defenseless to prevent what’s happening - the world community doing nothing to help them.
