Bernie Sanders said being Jewish is “essential” to who he is. Sanders was asked during the Democratic presidential debate in Flint, Michigan, on Sunday evening about reports that Jews were disappointed that he appeared to be have downplayed his Jewishness during his campaign. “I am very proud to be Jewish, and being Jewish is so much of what I am,” Sanders, an Independent senator from Vermont, replied. “Look, my father’s family was wiped out by Hitler in the Holocaust,” said Sanders, 74, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, and whose father emigrated to the United States from Poland. “I know about what crazy and radical, and extremist politics mean,” he said. “I learned that lesson as a tiny, tiny child when my mother would take me shopping, and we would see people working in stores who had numbers on their arms because they were in Hitler’s concentration camp. I am very proud of being Jewish, and that is an essential part of who I am as a human being.” Poster Comment: Sanders was asked if he believes in God. He had two choices: 1) admit that he's an atheist and destroy any chance to winning the nomination 2) talk about his Jewish upbringing, tossing in references to the holocaust, which is their real religion.

During the CNN Democratic debate Thursday night Sen. Bernie Sanders claimed that if someone was white they don’t know what it’s like to be poor or live in a ghetto. “When you’re white you don’t know what it’s like to be living in a ghetto, you don’t know what it’s like to be poor,” said Sanders. “You don’t know what it’s like to be hassled when you walk down the street, or dragged out of a car.” The remarks came in response from a question by CNN’s Don Lemon that asked candidates what “racial blind spots” they had. Clinton responded by saying, “being a white person in the United States of America I know that I’ve never had the experience that so many people in this audience have had.” Hillary went on to say, “I have spent a lot of time with the mother’s of African-American children who have lost them — Trayvon Martin’s mother.”
That is a powerful post with graphic to show the exclusions of conditions with all contemporary political rhetoric. Thank you.
