You know this presidential election is getting bloody when the candidates resort to insulting the supporters of their opponents.
That’s precisely what happened recently when Ted Cruz went after Donald Trump supporters during an interview on CBN’s “The Brody File.”
Cruz told the interviewer in that overly-rehearsed and measured way of his,
“Listen Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry, and they see him as an angry voice.
Where we are beating him is when voters get more engaged and they get more informed. When they inform themselves they realize his record.
He’s what they’re angry at. He is the corruption, and if you want someone to stand up to Washington, the only one who has been doing so in this race is me.”
What Cruz has failed to realize is that he just alienated millions of potential supporters. In the event that Trump doesn’t gain the nomination and Cruz does, many people were prepared to support him because in many ways, he seems like the natural alternative to Trump.
