I think weve done a really good job securing the border, said the former secretary of state told Phoenixs KTAR. During the interview, Clinton asserted that immigration from Mexico has dropped considerably over the past few years and that its just not happening anymore. I think that those who say we havent are not paying attention to what was done the last 15 years under President [George W.] Bush and President [Barack] Obama, Clinton said. While border numbers do show a drop in the number of illegal immigrants captured along the nations southern border in recent years, part of that decline is due to the current administrations directives against enforcing immigration laws. The top dog at the union representing Border Patrol officers told lawmakers that many of the agents he represents are angry the Obama administration is telling them not to do their jobs. Now, the Customs and Border Protection commissioner has weighed in, saying agents who are upset should look for another job.
