Trump and Clinton tried outdoing each other in pledging fealty to a fascist apartheid state, viciously oppressive, operating lawlessly, masquerading as democratic. I speak to you today as a lifelong supporter and true friend of Israel, said Trump. Im a newcomer to politics but not to backing the Jewish state. Iran bashing is standard practice at AIPAC conferences. Trump followed tradition disgracefully, calling the important nuclear deal catastrophic for America, for Israel and the whole Middle East - a bald-faced lie he spit out without batting an eye. Claiming he studied the deal more than anyone else drew near derision. At most, he may have read a short summary of what his handlers prepared, assuring anti-Iranian bias. He knows nothing about its history or relations with other nations - notably that it hasnt attacked another country in centuries, threatens none now, and its nuclear program is entirely peaceful, with no military component or intention to have one. Iran wants a Middle East free from the scourge of nuclear weapons, notably Israels threatening arsenal Trump and Clinton both ignored. It wants regional peace and stability, mutual cooperation among all nations, respect for the rule of law - polar opposite US/Israeli policy. Claiming he has a strategy to confront Irans aggressive push to destabilize and dominate the region shows hes as militantly off-the-rails as neocon Clinton and Cruz, his only rivals in the race for the White House. Iran is a problem in Iraq, a problem in Syria, a problem in Lebanon, a problem in Yemen and will be a very, very major problem for Saudi Arabia. The problem is Iranian sovereign independence. America and Israel want it replaced with puppet governance they control - an agenda Iranians wont tolerate. We will move the American embassy to the eternal capital of the Jewish people, Trump ranted, a flagrant international law violation if implemented. Jerusalem is a UN established international city. Trump is an old-fashioned demagogue, supporting the same dirty business as usual policies as other aspirants for the nations highest office - dressed up in his unique mumbo jumbo rhetorical bluster. America and other nations wont be in good hands with him as president - worse if Clinton succeeds Obama, the greatest threat to world peace in memory, a war goddess committed to endless conflicts, possible direct confrontation with Russia, China and Iran. The United States and Israel must be closer than ever, stronger than ever and more determined than ever to prevail against our common adversaries and to advance our shared values, she ranted - a partnership risking WW III. She wants it taken to the next level, likely intending embroiling the entire Middle East in conflict, raping more countries than already. She and Trump ignored Israels longstanding reign of terror on defenseless Palestinians, its genocidal agenda, partnering with Obamas war on Syria, supplying ISIS and other terrorists groups with weapons, providing medical care for their wounded fighters. America and Israel deplore peace and stability, prioritize endless conflicts - neither country a bastion of liberty. Both risk the unthinkable - possible catastrophic nuclear war able to end life on earth. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago. He can be reached at lendmanstephen@sbcglobal.net.
