What Happens When A Journalist Forces A Banker To Answer A Question [Watch] This Irish journalist persevered to get his answers from multiple bankers with avoidance issues. The exchange is definitely worth watching.
Vincent Browne: Klaus Masuch, did your taxi driver tell you how the Irish people are bewildered that we are required to pay unguaranteed bondholders billions of euros for debts that the Irish people have no relation to or no bearing with, primarily to bail out or to ensure the solvency of European banks? And if the taxi driver had asked you that question, what would have been your response? Thats my first question.
Barbara Nolan: Well, well, well, can we take a couple together? Can you ask the second question?
VB: Well, my second question is a completely different issue and it may have a follow-through if Mr Masuch doesnt answer the question in a way that would illuminate the taxi drivers understanding of all this, I would have a follow-through question.
Nolan: Right, can I ask you then to pass the mic, and well come back to you for the second question?
Browne: Well, if you dont mind, thats a way of breaking up the exchange, and I would prefer if it went this way: Weve a tradition in Irish journalism that we pursue issues and that when somebody doesnt ask [answer] a question we follow through on it and I hope that tradition will be respected on this occasion. So could you answer the question?
Masuch: I have answered a very similar question of you I think it was two reviews ago and can
Browne: [inaudible] the question

(The headline is wishful thinking -- Browne shows proper persistence but the bureaurats just mumble platitudes at him and give him the Clintoon "time to move on" ploy. Browne does show how to grossly embarrass the kleptocrats through, and they put on a show of total degradation! This German-accented suit-goon is just like Lamb Paul -- has a female handler there to defend him from pesky citizens and their demands for actual communication and responsibility. Is she his mama??? From the start she's looking for any diversion, any way to dilute Browne, starting with "please ask both of your questions" meaning "We really hate that question!" :-/ NN)
