You've done some concerts. Ever seen them boys in a mosh pit doing a berzerker dance? Here's some advice: don't mosh.
Been to those concerts with mosh pits. When we were at Woodstock '94, they called us in early because the bands started early. When we got in there, this guy had his girlfriend on his shoulders down front. They were telling him to get her down, and he wouldn't get her down. There were these two old hippies there that were at the first Woodstock. I told them, "Spread out. I'm coming in." I jumped down off the stage and circled around the crowd. Someone reached out and grabbed the girl by the wrist and pulled her off and onto the front of the stage. The guy was taking off for the mosh pit. I grabbed him by the wrist before he got in there and reeled him in and pushed him up against the stage. I put my hand under his behind and the guys pulled him out. Then they pulled me out. Someone threw a wad of muddy straw and hit me in the face. There was a black guy hosing down the crowd. I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and washed off my face. I saw him again at Lollapalooza in Des Moines. He was on the crew cart. When he saw me, he stopped the cart and jumped off. He ran over and gave me a big hug, "Tex, How ya doin'!" Allman Brothers Band was terrific. So were a lot of the other bands. Jordan was running the crew and he told me to find a place and get some rest so I was ready for Red Hot Chili Peppers. I found a chair with a tarp strung in the riggings and I sat down and put my feet up. Along came the guy from New York that was running the gig out there. I was at the TV tower the first day. Some guy was body surfing. The crowd was thinning out and he was losing altitude. He was going head first into the corner of the barricade. I take it when you say "he was," you're quoting somebody. Have never really been a Cash fan (my father was in the Hootenanny era), but his song Hey Porter really is immortal. 'Twas also the first one he ever heard himself sing on the radio. In purest sense of the word, he was not. If you recall, at that time NSA was in its infancy, a civilian agency, with military components attached. At that time, the Air Force was looking for volunteers for forward air controllers in Korea, intercept operators such as Cash, combat crew radio/ECM operators, plus other ground operations. One took their pick, took their chances. Lost many friends.

Yes... In the context of geo/politics, past, present and future, one has to be knowledgeable and without preconceived bias. For instance, in black and white, off the public discourse, Russia does NOT want us to leave South Korea. Why not?

I went to grade school with a Japanese-American kid named Paul Caplinger. His mother was Japanese. I never met his father, but I assume he was a serviceman during the Korean War. When I worked for the florist shop on the NW side, I delivered a flower piece to his new wife's residence on the South Side. He married a white girl. When I delivered the flowers, I told them that I went to grade school with him. He was left-handed as many Japanese were, and he was really smart and went to High School at Lane Technical H.S. Why would you suppose China isn't demanding it back? It's been speculated thru the years that when a generation of Chinese men grew up to find themselves womenless, they'd rush the border and steal "Russian" ones. Never heard this dimension of it!

Did Caplinger (possible Jue name, cf. Al Capp) remember you from school? Our old places add much. Summers growing up we used to have lunch at Harrell's drugstore in Virginia Beach, ordinary but yummy burgers made magical somehow with just pickles and mustard, and a lemon or limeade made from scratch -- fizzy or flat, your choice. Lastime I was there about 25 years ago the entire town was changed. All the lovely old firetrap hotels replaced by Ramadas etc, but the drugstore building was still standing in the middle of it -- empty and sad, as if picked up from earth and plunked down on the Planet Krypton (am I repeating myself). Attempting similar burgers at home doesn't work -- not French's restaurant blend :-(
