Popularity aside though, is Fit Tea Detox a legitimate product that can help you lose weight, or is it just another fad? That’s exactly what we’re here to help you figure out. First, let’s talk about Fit Tea Detox’s biggest claimed benefits: detoxification and weight loss. How Much Weight Can You Expect To Lose With Fit Tea Detox? According to the company’s website, Fit Tea contain the following ingredients (we’ll talk briefly about their supplements in a second): Organic Green Tea Oolong Wu Yi Garcinia Cambogia Extract Pomegranate Organic Rooibos Ginger Stevia Honey Guarana Citric Acid Sea Salt (electrolytes) Lemon Juice Matcha Green Tea How effective are these? Can Green Tea Provide Value? Well, green tea (whether standard, oolong, or matcha) is understood to provide an array of health benefits. Why? Because it contains something known as catechins, a type of antioxidant that combats against cell damage. It’s also been shown to improve circulation, lower cholesterol, boost brain function, stabilize blood sugar levels, decrease blood pressure, and much more. However, there is little peer-reviewed clinical evidence showing that green tea specifically can help you lose weight. Granted, the caffeine it contains (about the same as a cup of coffee) might provide a boost of energy, increased mental alertness, and an improved metabolism, but you’d probably get this same boost from any other beverage with an equal amount of caffeine. Is Detoxing Necessary? What about detoxing? We’ve reviewed a lot of detoxification supplements here at HighYa, and we even wrote an in-depth article about the relationship between detoxification, weight loss, and green tea not too long ago. In a nutshell, most physicians seem to agree that our body doesn’t require detoxification to begin with. On top of this, other than the antioxidant content, it doesn’t appear that Fit Tea Detox contains anything that would provide any kind of “cleansing” effect. But, keep in mind that we’re not saying these ingredients don’t come with any benefits—just none related to weight loss. For example, Rooibos contains high levels of vitamin C, which might help fight everything from poor vision to cancer, while ginger might be effective for treating everything from arthritis to menstrual pain. And as we already mentioned, caffeine can temporarily boost your mental alertness. Although Fit Tea Detox’s ingredients might not be highly effective for weight loss or detoxing, what about their supplements? Again, some of these ingredients might provide some level of benefit, such as the nutrients in kelp or the antioxidants in acai, but none related to weight loss or detoxification. What about garcinia cambogia and forskolin? These are two ingredients that the HighYa team has an extensive amount of experience with, including supplements and in-depth buyer’s guides. What have we found? There isn’t any clinical evidence showing they can reliably help humans lose weight. Customer Feedback For Fit Tea On Fit Tea Detox’s website, their products had an average rating of 4.9 stars, based on nearly 700 customer reviews. Common compliments? Increased energy, reduced appetite, effective weight loss, great taste, and no side effects. On Amazon, the 28-Day Fit Tea Detox had 203 customer reviews at the time of our research, with an average rating of 3.8 stars. As on the Fit Tea website, common compliments were that it’s effective for increasing energy and losing weight, and that it tastes great. On the other hand, the most common complaint was that it didn’t work, while a few others didn’t appreciate the taste. Diet Pills Watchdog gave Fit Tea Detox a “rejected” status, primarily because the company “overstates the potential effects of some of the ingredients,” the “fat burning elements of this weight loss tea are not very strong,” and “the lack of money back guarantee is unsatisfactory.” From a company perspective, Fit Tea had an F rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on 9 closed complaints (7 of which the company failed to respond to). Most appeared to reference long shipping times and incorrect orders (as of 2/24/16). Is Fit Tea a Strong Choice For Optimum Health? Here’s what it ultimately comes down to with Fit Tea Detox: On its own, there doesn’t appear to be a lot of clinical evidence supporting the efficacy of Fit Tea Detox’s ingredients for losing weight or detoxing. However, it seems to have mostly positive online customer reviews, and comes from a legitimate company who’s passionate about tea and focused on quality customer service. They’re also fully upfront that this isn’t some magic weight loss pill, and that you’ll have to exercise and eat right to get results. After all, the only way of losing weight and keeping it off for the long term is by focusing on diet and exercise. And just like anything else, no single supplement will work for everyone.
