March 15th, 2016
Economist Nassim Taleb is a prickly, arrogant guy who doesn’t care what intellectuals, academics, and other establishment elitists think about him. He has a PhD, but hates academics and their worship of theories and models.
Taleb also enjoys poking holes in the storylines of the propaganda-spewing, liberal Lamestream Media. He was deadly accurate in predicting the financial Crash of 2008 with his book Black Swan, written in 2006. Taleb realizes that the world doesn’t work in theories and models like the pointy-headed professors would like to believe.
He knows the world is propelled by black swans (unexpected events), not a normal distribution of the world. He was right in 2006 and he’s right now. His latest blast at the media and political establishment has made the rounds in alternative media – but not the Lamestream variety – as it goes against their well-scripted propaganda.
Here’s Taleb’s Facebook post which is the best explanation for the popularity of Donald Trump:
“The *establishment* composed of journos, BS-Vending talking heads with well-formulated verbs, bureaucrato-cronies, lobbyists-in-training, New Yorker-reading semi-intellectuals, image-conscious empty suits, Washington rent-seekers and other “well thinking” members of the vocal elites are not getting the point about what is happening and the sterility of their arguments. People are not voting for Trump (or Sanders). People are just voting, finally, to destroy the establishment.”
Dr. Taleb has summed up American voters’ anger and sentiment best in just one paragraph. People are totally fed up with the arrogance of these elites and concerned about the direction the United States is going in.
We would also include in the “establishment” media personalities and talk show hosts like Glenn Beck, pundits like neo-conservative William Kristol of the Weekly Standard and the self-righteous Rich Lowry at National Review.
They all realize that a Trump nomination this summer and a victory in November would significantly lessen their power, influence and possibly their income.
Do you agree with Dr. Taleb’s assessment of why conservative and Republican voters are supporting Donald Trump?

Something went wrong here and the title hiccuped and posted twice. Could you please fix it? Thanks.
