In the interview, Tate discussed being in her first movie as a lead in Fight Valley, launching her podcast and the origins of her nickname Cupcake. Then the conversation turned to politics and whom Tate was going to vote for in the coming presidential election. View photo Miesha Tate, right, celebrates her victory over Holly Holm at UFC 196. (AP) Im probably going to get a lot of flack for this but I feel that weve been Democratic for too long and we need balance, Tate said. We need a Republican in office. With the controversial Donald Trump appearing to be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination, does that mean that Tate is throwing her endorsement behind the business tycoon? I dont know enough about Cruz, Tate said while adding that she plans on doing some more research before casting her ballot this November. But she did manage to come to Trumps defense about one thing that she has dealt with in the past: failure. People talk crap about all of Trumps failed businesses but failing isnt always a telltale sign that youre bad at something, Tate said. Usually, people who fail at something are at least willing to try and probably have succeeded more times than they have failed. Tate has an 18-5 record, so she definitely attest to the notion that shes succeeded more than she has failed and shouldnt be pigeonholed only by her failure to beat Ronda Rousey. But maybe theres a little bit more to this as they also share a common enemy in Rousey. After Rousey was knocked out by Holm, Trump took a shot at the former champion. Glad to see @RondaRousey lost her championship fight last night. Was soundly beaten - not a nice person!" Trump tweeted. Tate likely agrees with Trumps sentiments about her arch-rival and perhaps the two share more things in common than they are aware of. Poster Comment: Mint me a good one.
