Bill Maher Predicts Democrats Will Lose If They Cant Say These 2 Simple Words
Bill Maher is certainly no friend to the Republicans, but on the issue of Islamic terrorism, he manages to find common ground with the GOP. His attempts to educate the left on the dangers of radical Islam have largely fallen on deaf ears, however.
He particularly views it as a problem for the Democrats in this election if they continue to refuse to utter the words Islamic terrorism.
Just say Islamic terrorism. Just say those words and youll win the election. Avoid those words and youre going to lose the election.
Maher was visited by Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and even Booker refused to say the words.
In fact, ISIS has been killing more Muslims than they have been killing anybody else. And so our response has got to be what were doing right now which is taking their territory away from them. This ideal they have. This perverse ideal that they have of creating a Caliphate. Were going to take their land back and were going to win that war in that field. But we also have to disrupt their terrorist networks and we also have to counter violent extremism at home. And so thats not a sound bite
Maher interjected, But see, wait. You say violent extremism. Ive said this before on this show. I think the Democrats risk losing this election if they cannot put together the words Islamic extremism as opposed to violent extremism. Please just tell me that you recognize that it is a distinct threat much greater than any other violent extremist threat. You dont really think its on the same order as the KKK? Are you really worried about the KKK?
Im not creating a false equivalency here, Booker protested. But since 9/11, weve lost 48 Americans. Boston bombings. Christian walking in to a Planned Parenthood in Colorado, massacring people.
Christians are not trying to get a dirty bomb. That is a false equivalency, Maher said.
No matter how Maher pleaded with him to say the works, Booker could not bring himself to do it.
Do you think Maher has a point, are Dems in trouble if they cant start talking about the real problem: Islamic terrorism?

Say it!
BTW, the KKK was not a terrorist organization. They defended the white race in the aftermath of the Civil War. No, I am not a member of KKK. There is such a thing as historical accuracy.
