Thanks, VA! Over 260,000 Veterans Stripped Of Right To Own Guns 52168614_s Once again our military veterans find their Second Amendment rights violated by the VA. Vets who have appointed a fiduciary trustee to act on their behalf have been automatically declared “mentally defective”. They’ve been reported to the Federal NICS (National Instant Criminal Backgroud Check System), which essentially marks them as prohibited to posses firearms. U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, an Iowa lawmaker who is currently the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, finds this unacceptable. “Our military heroes risked their lives to protect and defend this country and all that we stand for, including our most basic constitutional rights,” said Grassley in a statement. “Now the very agency created to serve them is jeopardizing their Second Amendment rights through an erroneous reading of gun regulations. The VA’s careless approach to our veterans’ constitutional rights is disgraceful.” Grassley has joined with Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., in an effort to demand answers and restore rights to veterans. This appears as but one more step to disarm the general populace. It's weird that the supporters of the right to self-protect are constantly telling us that this "agency" or that are going to "TAKE" away our rights. These are propagandist rantings that acclimate people to the idea in order to disarm the common citizen. Time for Americans to grow a pair and stop listening to this tripe.

Ican't help asking..... Do yawl ever hear any discussion among soldiers or vets about this? They "fight for our freedoms", but when they come home it seems robbing them of theirs is the first order of business. Is there any...... discussion about it? Ranting? Anger? Activism, lobbying, resistance? Writing to CONgressmen JBS-style, at least? Move away from enlisting on this basis? Admittedly I'm a dreamer.

Some nut called me about two years ago and told me I was in the National Guard. I said, "Nope." Then he said, "Then you worked for the National Guard." I said, "Not at all. Where are you getting your information." When they get your name, they think they know everything about you. ;)
