this is pretty good, she wins in the end. I know that DUI checkpoints have been upheld in Calif courts, but I am not sure if the same has been done for compulsory ID checks. She said there was no probable cause for them to demand id, and she refused to show it. Hence that is probably why they let her go.

That was when police were public servants, now they are government Gestapo.
I'm not sure why, if it's because its a blessing, or am getting older, or more mellow, or what, but in the past several years I've found that the great majority of law enforcement I encounter are very professional and courteous folks.
just the other day , I won't go into the whole story, but I had one cop tell me 'well you don't have to be so condescending,'. he thought I was being condescending to him, but he told me very politely, almost as if his feelings were hurt, LOL.
