WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, his spokeswoman said Sunday.

Harry Whittington, 78, was "alert and doing fine" after Cheney sprayed Whittington with shotgun pellets on Saturday at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong.

Armstrong said Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidentally hit Whittington. She said Whittington was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Cheney's spokeswoman, Lea Anne McBride, said the vice president was with Whittington, a lawyer from Austin, Texas, and his wife at the hospital on Sunday afternoon.

This is preferable to what he allegedly did to Cathy O'Brien

Dick Cheney had an apparent addiction to the "thrill of the sport." He appeared obsessed with playing A Most Dangerous Game as a means of traumatizing mind control victims, as well as to satisfy his own perverse sexual kinks. My introduction to the game occurred upon arrival at the hunting lodge near Greybull, Wyoming, and it physically and psychologically devastated me. I was sufficiently traumatized for Cheney's programming, as I stood naked in his hunting lodge office after being hunted down and caught. Cheney was talking as he paced around me, "I could stuff you and mount you like a jackalope and call you a two legged dear. Or I could stuff you with this (he unzipped his pants to reveal his oversized penis) right down your throat, and then mount you. Which do you prefer?"

Funny you should mention that because I made a blog entry today of this photo captioned "What evil does to men's faces."

Both Cheney and Rumsfeld looked like normal people in November 1975. 30 years later they have transmogrified into monsters and it's literally written all over their faces. Both of them are enough to scare small children these days.

Wow, I didn't even RECOGNIZE Cheney at first - then I noticed that little smirk. I think you have an excellent observation - that after 50 or 60 years of living your face, and especially your characteristic expression truly represent what you're about inside. If you look like a mean, bitter, nasty person when you're past 50, then that's probably what you are.

Sport or Slaughter? VP's Hunting Trip Sparks Criticism

(KDKA) Pittsburgh Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting trip to Westmoreland County this week is drawing criticism.

Cheney arrived at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe on Monday to do some hunting at the Rolling Rock Club and Game Preserve -- a private club with farm-raised pheasants; but some say it was no hunt -- it was a slaughter.

"Your average hunter may shoot more than three pheasants a day; Vice President Cheney shot more than 70 -- and an untold number of mallards... We're appalled that so many animals were killed for target practice essentially."-- Wayne Pacelle, V.P.- Humane Society of the US
Five-hundred pheasants were released in front of Cheney and his men; and the ten-man hunting party killed 417 of the birds. Vice President Cheney alone shot over 70 pheasants.

The birds were then plucked and vacuum-packed in time for Cheney's afternoon flight back to Washington, DC.

The hunt sparked the Humane Society to issue a statement chastising Cheney. "We're appalled that so many animals were killed -- for target practice essentially," says Humane Society Vice President Wayne Pacelle.
"To just slaughter animals that are dumped out in front of hunters just for the thrill of all this killing is not something that can be justified... this is more grisly than we ever could have imagined it could be."-- Wayne Pacelle, Humane Society
The White House isn't commenting.

I don't object to hunting per se, but I do object to wanton violence and cruelty, which I think is what Cheney displays. He just likes to hurt and kill things, it's obviously one of his character traits. When I look and listen to Cheney, I get the impression of a very sick, evil and twisted person, and that's reflected in his very odd family life, as well. No wonder his wife and daughter are lesbians.

No wonder Cheney and his chief of staff Addington are apparently the ultimate source of the torture policies.

I agree with you - it takes a certain mindset to really think through and approve torture policies (especially when most good intelligence people will tell you that info gained through torture generally isn't worth much). Cheney and his people have routinized torture, made it part of the usual practice. I think it's part of their twisted mindset where they really do enjoy controlling and inflicting pain on others - human or animal. I have always believed that the way people treat animals will reflect on how they treat people. There is something fundamentally wrong with many members of the Bush admin on a basic human, psychological level. These are not normal people.
