Americans were not allowed to own gold from that date until President Gerald Ford signed Executive Order 11825 on December 31, 1974 revoking FDR's order.

Note Well: Nothing says it couldn't happen again.

I know more than one gold bug that will guarantee you, that caper will never never never happen again.

The Russians added a twist to such a legal heist by adding taking it by force.

I was a tad young, but FDR did it in my lifetime and American gold bugs capitulated without a whimper. No blazing guns, nothing.

My estimate this time around is they will replace gold with a few cents on the dollar...OR WITH NOTHING.

Never trust the government, your gold depends on it.
