(NaturalNews) According to biotech industry and its army of mercenary trolls and science shills, glyphosate is perfectly safe to eat and doesn't cause cancer.

Of course, that claim holds about as much scientific credibility as Big Tobacco's claim that "smoking cigarettes doesn't cause lung cancer or heart disease" -- the "scientific" mantra of the tobacco era... dutifully repeated by the Journal of the American Medical Association for decades, by the way.

The truth, of course, is that smoking cigarettes causes cancer. So does eating glyphosate. It's basic biochemical cause and effect. Those who deny this link are denying the laws of chemistry and biology.

Some data suggest that glyphosate - an herbicide found in Roundup - is associated with the skyrocketing numbers of celiac cases as well as increases in cancer, Parkinson's, thyroid disease, and kidney disease. We're exposed to plenty of Roundup by way of our wheat. At harvesttime, wheat crops are sprayed with Roundup up to six times, to kill it, so that it releases its seed more easily. This increases crop yield, which is good for business, but as a result we are consuming ever-increasing amounts of the toxic herbicide each time we eat wheat-based products. According to the USDA, as of 2012, 99 percent of durum wheat, 97 percent of spring wheat, and 61 percent of winter wheat had been treated with herbicides - a significant increase since 1998. Roundup may well play a role in the increase in food allergies through numerous means, including killing particular gut bacteria, impairing detoxification, depleting nutrients, and improperly triggering the immune system.

Have to buy bread made from wheat grown in Russia. They're outlawing Roundup.

Russia has become the world's leader in the export of wheat, surpassing the United States and Canada, Russian Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev said Thursday.

"Russia supplies about 25 million tons of wheat on the external market by the end of the agricultural 2016 year. We became the world's leading wheat exporter, surpassing the United States and Canada," Tkachev was quoted as saying by Russian news agency Tass.
