Tim Schmidt We recently wrapped up the 2nd Annual USCCA Concealed Carry Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.
I spent a good portion of the weekend talking with responsibly armed Americans from all over the country, including USCCA Members who joined us all the way from Minnesota, Ohio, and ALASKA! :-)
One of the things I kept hearing over and over again throughout my time in Atlanta was how much attendees LOVED hearing from and meeting Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, Jr. See, I had the distinct honor of welcoming Sheriff Clarke—a fellow patriot and a very good friend of mine—to kick things off on Friday.
And what he delivered was nothing short of an epic, freedom-loving speech.
We actually live-streamed the event on our Facebook page, and the feedback was incredible:

Sheriff Clarke’s message was incredibly well-received, and it’s no wonder why. I believe his words perfectly captured and expressed the reason we all do what we do: “It is the first law of nature. Man has an inherent desire to survive. Sometimes that means fighting off criminal predators. You are the first line in your personal defense—not law enforcement.”
He added: “Don’t let anyone tell you to outsource your safety to the government. Defend yourself in ways most advantageous to you—and then dial 911. Your life may depend on it.”

Of course, Sheriff Clarke ended his speech with the same question that propelled him into the spotlight with his Public Service Announcements a few years back:
“Can I count on you?”
As responsibly armed Americans who know the true meaning of personal responsibility, and as ultimate defenders who would do anything to protect the ones we love, I think I speak for us all when I say, without hesitation, “YES!”

This is a great video. Sheriff Clarke wears a cowboy hat and boots. What a man.
