This was surprising. I stumbled across it while looking for solutions to secure the hinges of an outswinging door for a particularly paranoid (and frugal) client that I'm currently working for.
I wouldn't recommend using too heavy of a zip-tie in case of emergency, and recommend removing the T-handle from the release rope, leaving enough to wrap around your hand to release in an emergency.
There's a lot of other (and more expensive) ways to correct the problem. Lots more EweToob vids adressing this problem. Your situation and mileage may vary.
On a side note, I liked how the NewsHeads said they weren't going to show us how to do the break-in, then did exactly that.

Our detached garage door has no handle and is so tight that mice can't even enter. There are also motion detector lights brighter than a prison yard if anyone/anything comes in range. One thing that I don't worry about at all.
