Horrific EU Mistreatment of Refugees

by Stephen Lendman

Desperate people fleeing US war zones, state terror and persecution are some of the world’s least welcome - denigrated for seeking safe havens, wanting life, not death.

European refugee camp conditions are deplorable, below minimum standards for human habitation, warehouses for unwanted people, concentration camps in Turkey.

Greece is no better, new Thessaloniki camps way overcrowded, vital humanitarian aid lacking, thousands transferred from now cleared Idomeni because of its deplorable conditions.

Greece’s Interior Minister Panagiotis Kouroumplis called it a “modern (day) Dachau.” Human rights activists consider new Thessaloniki camps no better.

According to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) medical coordinator for Greece, Dr. Lamia Bezer, “(t)he places where the camps have been set up are all in industrial areas.”

“All these areas are not supposed to be residential areas. They are not really fit to be hosting thousands of people.”

They’re way overcrowded, basic hygienic conditions absent, endangering the health and lives of their inhabitants.

Waste piles up where people live. Better planning and concern for desperate people could have handled things better. UNHCR’s Melissa Fleming said some of the Thessaloniki camps she visited were deplorable, well below minimum human habitation standards.

Greece is hostage to Troika bandits, financially raping and pillaging democracy’s birthplace, demanding new pounds of flesh on top of earlier amounts extracted.

Ordinary Greeks suffer hugely under extreme neoliberal harshness. Desperate refugees fleeing war zones and persecution are treated like disposable garbage.

Sorry Stephen, but I'll not shed a tear for these barbarians invading either Europe, or America.

I sincerely hope that both Europe and the USA will adopt a take no prisoners approach when dealing with these malcontents.

Amen! we have plenty enough malcontent moochers as it is. Allowing and/or importing more is societal suicide.

You think we should do like in the movie "Red Dawn" where they conduct reprisals? Or like the Einsatzgruppen in Eastern Europe and just shoot them in the back of the head and dump the bodies into ditches? Maybe that will work here, ya think? ;)

Why should Ye Olde Europe welcome so much as one invader?

Let's see, after centuries of repelling the goat-fucking, child-raping, murderous, Mohammedans; the euros now welcome them with open arms to continue their sub-human ways with complete immunity and protection and welfare benefits.
