The method works. It is very effective with parents, teachers, school children, and any community group. The "targets" rarely, if ever, know that they are being manipulated. If they do suspect this is happening, they do not know how to end the process.
This worked like a charm with an ex-foreman I worked with. I would tell a co- worker to plant an idea in his head and as soon as he repeated it to the crew one of us would chime in, "Great idea, Ray," and he would stick out his chest and troop back to the pickup like a big shot. Little did he know that we got what we wanted from him. ;0)
