On February 14, 2006 our web site was malaciously hacked. As a result we had to take Global News Matrix down until we can rectify the issue. We are not sure when we will be back up and running. Please join our Yahoo! Group to receive updates. We will update this message when we know more. – Global News Matrix

Awoken Research Group is currently offline with no contact from our server admin. Anyone else notice anything unusual today?

Minor thing - my boyfriend has started to suspect that his phone is tapped. I think he just has a bad phone but he's starting to hear these clicks during conversations. Is this a sign of tapping? I really don't know.

Maybe there's more to that govt "test" than they told us.

Some mock attacks were aimed at causing a "significant cyber disruption" that could seriously damage energy, transportation and health care industries and undermine public confidence, said George Foresman, an undersecretary at the Homeland Security Department.

There was no impact on the real Internet during the weeklong exercise. Government officials from the United States, Canada, Australia and England and executives from Microsoft, Cisco, Verisign and others said they were careful to simulate attacks only using isolated computers, working from basement offices at the Secret Services headquarters in downtown Washington.

The Homeland Security Department promised a full report on results from the exercise by summer.

WTF?

I love it when the govt talks macho.

Unfortunately, I feel we are on the cusp of something. I hope I'm wrong.

I originally suspected that it had to do with the TIA story, as it is the direct commonal variable between GNM & ARG, but luckily, this info is propagating elsewhere: Google: Total Information Awareness Lives

Unfortunately, I feel we are on the cusp of something. I hope I'm wrong.

If we're on the cusp of anything, it will be the realization that we have been getting fucked for a very long time. I've called this upcoming awakening the "New Cynicism." As many have guessed, it has nothing to do with being a kinder, gentler cynicism.

Some people consider cynics to be paranoid. This is simply not true. Paranoia is an irrational fear that the world is out to get them. The cynic does not fear that the world is out to get them...he has accepted the fact that the world is out to get him and, as any 12-step program will teach you, acceptance is the key.

Cynics are also painted as being pessimistic. Again, not true. There are some substantial differences. An optimist looks at a half glass of water and proclaims it to be "half full." A pessimist will look at the glass and say that it is really "half empty." The cynic looks at the glass, then the optimist and the pessimist and says "Alright, which one you assholes drank half of the water?!"

Nothing says "poor workmanship" like wrinkles in your duct tape.

That is so bizzarre that you say that as I was thinking virtually the same thing just today.

There is definately a factor of cynisism built into the survival program. How some could be so absent this is also I think why many wonder "Why was the '40s German public so collectively stupid?"

Now this is interesting.. I was reading a blog that had info on it about this.. and listed all the key words.. the list was massive!

i've been told that you can't hear clicking..that they're that sophisticated nowadays. our cordless phones click like crazy when we're too far from the master so i wouldn't know one click from another. what i have heard often, though, is a sudden echo like sound which has made me suspicious.

I searched Yahoo Groups under Valis and "Awoken Research Group" but found nothing. How do I subscribe to that Yahoo group?

Jeff Rense's website is even more high profile than ARG but it stays up. That is because James Neff, his webmaster, has some techniques that he has used on other sites. He even has people in South Korea who use advanced encryption methods on the cheap. I only know what I heard from an interview with Neff. But he has kept Rense's site online.

Sorry for the confusion. The above Yahoo Group message was from Global News Matrix. ARG doesn't have a Yahoo group, unless you count those around here ;-)

Is this a sign of tapping?

Maybe - who knows?

For several months now, my land-line phone will ring, I'll answer, and there will only be the dial-tone.

What's up with that?
