Half-way measures wont work against imperial America, fully committed to replacing Syrian sovereignty with Western-controlled tyranny. On June 6, Sergey Lavrov said Washington was warned in advance. Russia intends providing air support to the Syrian army to prevent territories from being seized by terrorists. Secret US-led plans made behind our back wont be tolerated. We will be making decisions (on) what our air group should be doing on the basis of our vision of the situation. Washington failed to comply with its agreed on obligation to separate anti-Assad forces from Security Council designated terrorist groups, Lavrov explained. We believe there was more than enough time to do it, he added. John Kerry agreed to one thing. US policy was and remains something entirely different - complicit with Turkey in letting large numbers of heavily armed terrorists enter Syria regularly through its borders. Reality on the ground is Russia supports diplomatic conflict resolution. America wants another imperial trophy, endless war using terrorist foot soldiers supported by US air power and special forces its strategy to achieve it. Its up to Russia to back up Lavrovs latest pledge with action straightaway - targeting all anti- Assad groups not complying with Security Council ordered cessation of hostilities, hitting them hard relentlessly. The alternative is endless war, mass slaughter and destruction, an entire population at risk, Syrias sovereignty up for grabs. The future of the Middle East depends on what Russia does. Putin knows Syrian sovereignty is at stake. If it goes, Iran is next. Much rides on what he decides to do. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago. He can be reached at lendmanstephen@sbcglobal.net.
