If anyone happened to be driving down Highway 411 near Benton, Tennessee and saw a billboard with the words "Make America White Again" on it, that would belong to Rick Tyler, and Rick would like your vote.
Rick Tyler is an independent candidate in the race for Tennessee's 3rd congressional district seat, and according to WRCB, Tyler has no hatred in his heart for "people of color", he just wants America to go back to a "1960s, Ozzie and Harriet, Leave it to Beaver time when there were no break-ins; no violent crime; no mass immigration."
Ah, what says peace and acceptance quite like a "Make America White" again sign.
Upon learning that people were upset with the sign, Tyler said "I respect their right to have an opinion. I believe the majority of the people in the country like it" - it turns out not so much, as the sign has since been taken down.
To drive home whatever point Tyler was trying to make, a billboard on Highway 64 had a play on Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech, only Tyler's dream is apparently to have Confederate flags all over the White House. This billboard was taken down less than 12 hours after being put up.
Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Ryan Haynes said in a statement "There's no room for this type of hateful display in our political discourse. Racism should be rejected in all its heinous forms in the Third Congressional District and around the country."
We'll leave it to Tyler himself to explain everything...
