Obama earlier warning about Brexit consigning Britain to the “back of the queue” in future trade deals was replaced by Kerry stressing America’s “very close and special relationship with Great Britain…(unchanged) following (Thursday’s) vote).” Twenty-two EU states are NATO members, including Britain. Expect Washington’s heavy hand involved in events ahead as they unfold, exerting pressure, making sure its will is obeyed. Hegemons tolerate no outliers.
