While this would hardly be worthy of the news under a different set of circumstances; the simple fact the former President’s wife is the subject of a FBI investigation certainly leads to some speculation. For instance, how was it that only days after the Benghazi report was issued, and just days before Mrs. Clinton was set to be interviewed by the FBI… that Lynch and Clinton would just happen to be at the same airport and have their two private jets park right next to each other? It’s a good question and if you were to believe Lynch and Clinton that’s exactly what happened. If you were to believe these two career politicians you’d also believe Lynch, who was hired by Clinton back in the 90s, only discussed family matters…things like grand-children and the craziness of being parents…and nothing of the case. Because that’s what they both insist they did. And even if you were to believe this is all that happened you could still safely argue this meeting was highly unethical. After all, when the Attorney General is meeting with the husband of a woman who’s a target of a criminal investigation, regardless of their previous station, it appears to violate simple code of ethics. And that’s why there’s now an official complaint levied against the AG accusing her of ethical violations. The complaint was brought about by Judicial Watch, the same organization which has spearheaded the release of emails in the Benghazi investigation as well as numerous other investigations. Judicial watch said Lynch violated code – 18 USC §§ 202 – 209; Executive Order 12674 on Principles of Ethical Conduct as amended by EO 12731; Uniform Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch, 5 CFR Part 2635; Department of Justice regulations, 5 CFR Part 3801; Department of Justice regulations, 28 CFR Part 45; Executive branch standards of conduct, 5 USC § 735; and, United States Department of Justice Ethics Handbook for On and Off-Duty Conduct, 14 Principles for Ethical Conduct.” This code says employees “shall endeavor to avoid any actions creating the appearance that they are violating the law or the ethical standards set forth in this part.” So ask yourself as you read this if this meeting could any way be viewed as creating the appearance of violating an ethical standard. Your answer of course would be a resounding Yes. And after the FBI recommended no changes be brought against Hillary, Lynch’s meeting with former President Clinton took on an even more sinister overtone. It looked like Attorney General Lynch was giving the Clinton’s a heads up that they were all in the clear. This doesn’t sit well with conservatives who view this meeting as an obvious ethical violation. Michael Cutler writing for Front Page Magazine stated how much of America feels about this shady affair. “The stakes could not be higher – yet Loretta Lynch acted in a way that she should have clearly understood created that illusion of wrong-doing. … It is impossible to understand her motivation or what she was thinking as she sat on her airplane meeting with Bill Clinton – but one thing is now perfectly clear, she must recuse herself from any involvement in the decision making process where the investigation/prosecution of Hillary Clinton is concerned.” There’s no doubt other way around it, what happened on that plane in Phoenix is suspect. To think this encounter was nothing more than chance is to delude yourself into thinking the Clintons are innocent of any wrongdoing. Of course anyone reading this probably doesn’t believe that to be true… What do you think about this meeting? Were Lynch and Clinton really just talking about social events and grandchildren or was someone greasing the wheel on that private jet?
