Dead Constitution See other Dead Constitution Articles Title: America's Olympian Russia Bashing America’s Olympian Russia Bashing by Stephen Lendman Olympism is more about big business, profiteering, politics, spectacle, and exploitation than amateur athletics at their best. America wants control over Rio 2016. Russia’s Olympic Committee head Alexander Zhukov accused the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of conducting a “well-orchestrated biased campaign” to unfairly and irresponsibly ban Russian athletes from competing. America’s dirty hands are involved, Canada complicit, partners in shame, mocking Olympic competition by wanting one of the world’s most important countries banned from participating - solely to serve their imperial interests. Imposing collective punishment against Russian athletes over doping allegations against “the very few” runs counter “to the principles of the Olympic Charter,” said Zhukov. A leaked US/Canadian letter to International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials urged “immediately suspend(ing) the Russian Olympic and Paralympic Committees from the Olympic Movement.” It outrageously demanded no Russian athletes be allowed to participate in Rio 2016, one of many examples of unrelenting Russia bashing - Washington imposing its will on Olympism like everything else, sport no different from geopolitics. Olympism already is more spectacle than athletic competition worth following. Banning Russian participation sinks it to a new low. Longstanding US plans call for regime change. Washington wants Russia transformed into another US vassal state, its vast land mass partitioned for easier control, its resources looted, its people exploited. Color revolution or war is intended to achieve its objectives, world peace and humanity’s survival threatened, America an unparalleled menace. Bipartisan neocons infesting Washington want world conquest and domination, planet earth transformed into a US colony, unchallenged control established, all sovereign independent states eliminated.
